Life

  • I'm at a point in my life that I will refer to as a "shit or get of the pot" point. I'm currently in college and have one semester left before I get my associates degree. For the profession I'm actually interested in it doesn't pay for me to get a higher degree, and I'm also on a wait list for that job due to hiring freezes in NY. So a few days ago I get a notice from my parents insurance company that I need to either continue my education after this upcoming semester or not receive medical, dental, or optical insurance any more. After doing some research I thought I could go to trade school and get an automotive (ASE) certificate and maintain my current insurance terms, however the insurance company told me that trade school doesn't count as credits from an accredited school and therefore that plan will not help me. So I'm forced to either not have insurance any longer or dump ridiculous amounts of money into something that will not help me much in the future I would like for myself or join the military which is something that I have always wanted to do to a degree. However their are clear downfalls to the military such as the years in your life you lose while being deployed and away from family and friends. More importantly that my dilemma, this has taught me a few things. 1.) Don't stick all your eggs in one basket. 2.) Setting goals is good but be prepared for missing many goals you set for yourself. 3.) In many cases life is too fucking short and you need to just live it up and enjoy life or you will be miserable as I now am!
