• This is my first day at songmeanings. I've actually looked at the lyrics for months now, and I fell in love with the site because I like listening to music (any kind of music) and interpreting the meaning behind the songs. I'm a bit confused about the site, but I suppose I need to visit more forums for introduction. For instance, I'm not sure about making friends on the site and what that means... I enjoy a wide-range of music. I particularly like older music. This might be from listening to my dad's favorite music in the car that I grew attached to them. The artists that I listen to the most on my ipod, by far, are Siouxsie and the Banshees, the Smiths, the Cure, Elvis Costello, and Death Cab for Cutie. My username is based on Death Cab's song "You Are a Tourist." There is deep emotion in the majority of their songs and I love revisiting them and interpreting them differently every time. Some of my favorite genres include new wave, gothic rock, psychedelic rock, and indie pop. I do have some guilty pleasures like Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga. No one can beat "let's have some fun, this beat is sick, I want to take a ride on your disco stick!" I want to know more about music and different artists so that I can expand my knowledge and interest before I go to college in 2012. Weirdly, I'm a bit estranged from my friends this summer, so now I have the opportunity to start fresh and develop a unique and informed taste in music.
