So, today I was thinking. When I'm 45, driving a beat up minivan, taking my kids to soccer practice or whatever, what will be playing on the oldies station?
In 30 or 40 years, what will we remember from this past decade in music?
Will we remember the good stuff, The Black Keys, Arcade Fire, Vampire Weekend, MGMT? (to name a few good bands bands that seem to be very popular. There are better bands but I'd be satisfied if we remember those.)
Or will we remember Ke$ha, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry?
Will we think back on the Jonas Brothers as highly as we think about the Beatles?
And so that led me to thinking...
What if we remember the crap from yesterday? What if there was much better music than the Rolling Stones or Queen and we don't know it?
What if Mozart was crap compared other guys during the 1700s?
The future and the past of music
