  • If your reading this then likely you've read some of my song interpretations and wanted to know a little more about me. After all knowing the back story of the person posting the interpretation gives insight to why they're saying what they say. So I'll give you a breif background so you understand where I'm coming from. I was born in July of 1991 so as I'm writing this I'm 19 but I don't know how often or if this will be updated. I moved soon after birth to my hometown in Ohio. I was the first born and a couple years later got a younger brother and a couple more a sister. I spent most of my youth in my hometown but currently attend MSU, which is out of state. Lat in elementary school, a close relative of mine became addicted to narcotics, something which silently left a deep mark on my life. Though they made an excellant recovery, that feeling of helplessness has persisted in my memory influeced me a lot. In middle school my parents got a divorce and as they never had fought in front of us it came as a bit of a shock and it's long effected me and my siblings, though now we've all come to terms with what happened. As a freshman I had a seizure and was diagnosed with a type of epilepsy called JME, and though the meds have kept me seizure free they also prevented me from entering into any military service, and make me very drowsy. The hatered of the meds and the fear of not knowing what's going to happen to me made me quickly associate with Donnie in the movie Donnie Darko which quickly became my favorite movie. My father remarried a couple years later a younger woman which took some initial adjusting to, but she quickly became a part of the family and I soon had two more brothers. My mother is engaged and got a new house with her fiance. I've always questioned the existance of God, and was raised a Christian. By middle school I'd become an Aethiest but more thought I became an agnostic. Honestly I'm not sure if there is a God, as I don't see much proof. On the other hand I likewise cannot prove there is no God. I certainly don't believe in God in the sense that almost all Churches of all creeds preech. Going through life at a young age I was an insomniac and the long nights staring at the ceiling gave me a lot of time to think. My time alone with my thoughts gave way to depression. Something I've struggled with since. I make it day by day. My summer going into senior year I started talking to girl that in the coming months I would fall in love with. I was truly happy for the first time in longer than I could remember. When she told me she felt the same I was soaring, but merely 2 days later she ended it. Though we'd said we'd give it another shot the next two times we tried she again changed her mind. She left me crushed and though I've put it behind me and I'm not going back, I still struggle with the memory of what we had; both missing and hating her. My favorite bands are Blink-182 as I've always been able to relate to their songs and as I grow older the more I relate to them. I also love Modest Mouse for the same reasons as well as their creative lyrics. Lately I've been getting into Mogwai, and though the lyrics are often absent or nearly impossible to hear, they have a lot of meaning, too me any ways. The Red Hot Chili Peppers and Smashing Pumpkins have always been another favorite. I love music, though and I will really listen to just about anything. The real driving point for me is meaningful lyrics. Sure a catchy beat is nice to listen to sometimes but if it's gonna be more than a passing trend then the lyrics are important. If you have any questions feel free to PM me anytime. And in the off chance you like my intrepretations and want me to look at a song I'd be happy to! On the other hand if you disagree I'm open to criticism as well.
