• My take is that it is a guy that has is going to have a child, also meaning a family. But, if he is going to have a family he must give up his dream. (as said in the lines "The birth of a son the death of a dream") But like always, life goes on and that is the whole story of this song. To forgive what happened in the past and move on. In the music video it sums that up at the start by saying "Never regret anything, Because in the end, it makes you who you are." -L. Jon. C.
