I had this thing with a guy at work. Technically speaking we aren't workmates. He's from another account, we are just under one company. It's not anything serious or anyhting you imagine. We just used to share the office pantry during our breaks for a good couple of months. Apparently, we have the same break schedule. It started one night when I came to the pantry to eat. He was already there, eating. His looks immediately strucked me since I've always been attracted to bald guys. He was nice, even gracious enough to offer me his food. I just smiled, and said "no, thank you." He offered again and said there's plenty enough for two. I produced a firendly laugh. That's where it started. We woud share the table almost everyday. Both of us eating, sometimes me eating and him just watching TV, or him eating and me just drinking coffee. We would talk about what's currently on TV sometimes. But most of the times we just sit there together silently, minding our own business. When we see each other outside the pantry, we would smile at each other or raise our eyebrows in recognition. There was even one time when I wasn't able to take my break because of a long call and when he saw me later in the day he said, "there you are!" as if he missed me. *kilig to the bones!*buterflies in my stomach*
Things changed when their account was transferred to another floor. We barely see each other. No more pantry "rendezvous". I kinda missed him. I sometimes see him downstairs during smoke break. But he's always with his colleaugues and I with mine. One time I was in the elevator with him but it wsn't long enough when somebody entered in. To my surprise, the girl called him daddy. He just smiled in response and went out thereafter. The second time we shared the elevator, we didn't smile or look at each other. It felt awkward atleast for me. I don't know about him. Then the same girl, now with another girl entered in and they called him daddy, again. My speculation was confirmed when one of the girls asked him how old the baby is to which he answered, "37 weeks".
I wasn't heart broken. Just a little disappointed. Come to think of it, we don't even know each others name. :p
