• My girlfriend is a complicated being. She has not been treated with absolute respect by some of the men in her life, although I always strive to make her happy. She told me today that she doesn't completely trust me, but that's a non-issue for me - she has been through some horrible things. I went to my third Tai Chi class today. I think that the key to success in Tai Chi is to relax - perhaps this can be applied to life in general. It's hard to relax, though, what with work stressing me out. I found out today that I am to be assessed on my performance at work. Everybody else in my office is assessed, so in some ways this is fair. However, nobody in my office does a job quite like mine, so the only person that I feel would have a right to assess me would be myself. This would clearly present a conflict of interests. I want a new job now. I've taken enough shit from my managers who know less about how the office works than I do. The only good thing about being indispensable is that you get to imagine the chaos that would descend if you left. I hope I leave soon.
