I have to tell you about the school dance we had last night (Yes, I HAVE to tell you, and you have no say in the matter xD) BUT FIRST I need to type up this conversation CC and I had in Spanish:
(We'd been talking about my dad's redneck-ness which brought us to the subject of King of the Hill)
CC: Yeah, but that Hank Hill guy is pretty cool. I want a shirt tan like that when I get older.
Me: Hah, I don't think you could get any tanner than you are now (he's Arab).
CC: No, did you SEE me when I got back from Mexico last year?
Me: I don't really remember.
CC: Dude, I looked like Aunt Jemima.
Me: *laughing* Oh. My GOD.
CC: I'm not even kidding! If I were wearing an apron and had curly hair I'd be just like her.
Me: You should come to school wearing an apron with a bucket of pancakes after Christmas break. That would make my year.
CC: $50 and I'll do it.
Me: DONE. And put the pancakes in a bucket and the syrup in a gasoline can.
CC: AWESOME.
So there you have it, he's coming to school in January as an Aunt Jemima look alike. xD
AND, the dance. Went pretty good. Some kids brought in alcohol and were absolutely PLASTERED drunk the night but other than that, good times. I requested YMCA by The Village People and THEY PLAYED IT. Some kids stood behind the projector screen for the YMCA dance but they lined up backwards and did the C wrong. xD But you can't help but applaud the effort.
I danced with TB, which was somewhat awkward, but I'd rather him than some random kid like last year.
SOME RANDOM KID: Wanna dance?
Me: I, uh, err, hm... sure?
SEVERAL PEOPLE (HS, CC, and MB in particular) who said they were going failed to make an appearance. I can live without CC and MB being there but WITHOUT HS IT JUST AIN'T A PARTY. D:
Today, on the other hand, we had an assembly first period on a variety of things. There was an aboriginal man talking about the aboriginal segregated school fiasco in the 20's, some chick from down island talking to us about an assortment of topics, and a man in a tight shirt sharing his experiences with homophobia.
The highlight of the morning:
ABORIGINAL MAN: ...and this is why our people still have much healing to do. Thank you.
*applause*
SOME GIRL: Hey, my name's Kendall, and I'm here to talk to you about SEX!
THE AUDIENCE: OH BOY! :D
xD
P.E. we just watched a movie because the Eight and Sevens were using the auditorium for THEIR assembly. Which is good, because no square dancing. Third period we watched Master and Commander for Socials and fourth we watched Bill Nye on astronomy.
And that was my day.
Who in the hell is Aunt Jemima?
(44) i'm just sitting in my car, waiting for my girl.
