Such a Lovely Thing

  • With deVotchKa, more is said with the instruments than the words.

The protagonist in this song questions the validity of her lover's song because she only expresses her sentiments at times when it is most appropriate. However, she is too care-free and recluse with his heart as he demands more from her yet she continually is loose with his love. She may in fact love her.

Bottom Line: He needs to dump the bitch because she ain't giving him what he needs.

This is why I moved away from my hometown.  I may have, in fact, been loved, but I conditioned my friends to treat me a certain way that was unsatisfactory to my needs.  Certainly, the blame falls on me as I didn't establish these borders correctly.
