Dependent Beings

  • the problem with denial is that it takes a certain kind of genius to believe your own lies. To reach maturity, as is your line of thinking, requires you to deny many thoughts inside of you. You start to find things to change about yourself and become preoccupied with those things. But the whole point of self-exploration is to learn dependency. It is good to face what you are most inclined to deny. The more accurately we see ourselves, the more dependent we realize we are. We thirst for the warmth of true love and for the thrill of real meaning. But even once we have found love, it moves...it changes shape. Sometimes I think humans are the least intelligent of all creatures-and we shouldn't even speak. prim·i·tive (prim-i-tiv) adj. 1. Anthropology. A person belonging to a nonindustrial, often tribal society, especially a society characterized by a low level of economic complexity. 2. An unsophisticated person. 3. One that is at a low or early stage of development.
