  I HAVE A COMPLAINT.

  What is it with people trying to be better than everyone else? Which brings me to the subject of this rant: my friend CZ. Every time I have a small accomplishment/interesting story to tell her about, she has to make it seem less awesome by claiming the EXACT SAME THING has happened to her. No matter what it is. And now it's even worse now that she's in my rotation.

   Example.

  first day of school

  Me: What class do we have next?
  CZ: Social Studies.
  Me: Oh, sweet. I'm good at that class.
  CZ: Yeah, me too.
  Me: I find it really easy. I got 100% on my exam last year.
  CZ: Same. *quickly changes subject*

  Ummm... yeah. About sums it up.

  Also, small, meaningless things, she does that to them too. Except in slightly different manner.

  one time on MSN 

  Me: I'm gonna try and get up at 4 so I can relax a bit before school.
  CZ: Yeah, okay, I'll try that too.

  next day 

  CZ: did you do it?
  Me: Naw, I screwed it up so bad. I set my alarm for 3:30 so I could get a shower, 3:30 rolls around and I'm like "Eh, I can get one at 4,"  4:00  arrives and I'm like "eh, five more minutes" and then next thing I know it's 5:50 so I just said "screw it" and slept till 6:30.
  CZ: Same. But I got up at 3:00 and fell asleep until 5.
  Me: *in sincere doubt* Right.
  CZ: Usually I get up at two. But that night I was up until one.
  Me: ...

  She pretends to see movies/shows that I KNOW she hasn't seen.

  my attempts to prove this 

  Me: CZ, do you watch like, reeeaaallly old shows from the sixties/seventies?
  CZ: Yeah, I like grew up on that stuff.
  Me: Ever seen 'James at 15'?
  CZ: OHMIGAWD I LOOOOOVE THAT SHOW.
  Me: About that kid who moves from Oregon to Boston?
  CZ: Yeah!
  Me: And within like the first ten minutes of the pilot his dad gets hit by a car and he has to go live with his aunt for the rest of the show?
  CZ: YEAH!
  Me: Bloody shame cause THAT PART DIDN'T HAPPEN.
  CZ: *stunned* ... oh, I know. *regains composure* I was just playing along with you.
  Me: *facepalm*

  this other time

  Me: *talking about Flight of the Conchords* Oh gaaaaawd, that part with the guy in the elevator with the tap... funny shit.
  CZ: Hahaha, I love that show.
  Me: So, what was your favorite part?
  CZ: That one!
  Me: *bullshit radar goes off* Okay, BESIDES that scene.
  CZ: Oh... I dunno, wasn't really paying attention.
