Went to the Scottish and Irish store today, was pretty sweet. Lots of cool things, there's a whole bunch of trinkets with names and mottos of scottish and irish clans, it was really interesting. For example, there's a pin/brooch of a sword with the name "Ramsay", their motto/saying was "Ora et Labora"-Work and Pray. That's on my mom's side. One of my dad's side's names is MacDonald-"Per mare per terras" -By sea and by land. However the best, by far, is the other name from my dad's side...I love it. MacDougall-"Buaidh no Bàs"-To Conquer or Die...isn't that sick?? haha. What a great motto.
Well, I'm bored, here's some more facts...
*I think Creole is the best seasoning/topping EVER...I put it on everything from noodles to veggies to various meats.
*My eyes are blue with almost a bit of gray, but when I'm feeling an especially strong emotion (mainly sad or very angry) I've been told they become a deeper, intense blue.
*I've been told I look like Jorja Fox (Plays Sarah Sidle on the original CSI)-though without the gap in the front teeth-and Ellen Page (Juno, X-Men: The Last Stand).
*My favourite colour is and always has been red.
*I like the smell of lilacs, satsuma, forests in fall, campfires and fresh-baked bread.
*I've wanted a puppy forever but have never been allowed to get one because of my cat, who's old and doesn't get along with other animals.
*I'm cynical, generally pessimistic, and very sarcastic
*My mom thinks I'm very close-minded, I think she's wrong, I just haven't told her the things I'm open-minded about, I'm always on a rant when she calls me close-minded, what would you expect?
*I want to watch Across the Universe while being really really high
*I'll eat anything if it tastes good
*I'll eat it even if it doesn't-if the price is right
*Ex. I once ate a shrimp dipped in chocolate for a dollar...it was disgusting, but I had money. This was when I was fourteen or fifteen.
*I'm not easily disgusted, to the point where I frequently have to pretend to be disgusted by something so that I don't appear too weird...I can't think of any examples right now, but I'll let you know.
*Dancing for me is just plain rocking out in a car, or in a room with my sisters at my dad's, where nothing matters
*One of my favourite things to do is to go somewhere where few or no people know me, and just do anything and everything I want to, because I can, because nothing matters and what people think of me doesn't matter.
*Yellowknife is beautiful in the summer, it's up north, and no, there's no snow there in the summer.
*I can no longer describe my taste in music, I realized this while I talked to Rey, who said he doesn't know me but we've known eachother for over a year and hung out with other people many other times...he asked what my favourite music was, and I couldn't answer the question. There are few bands (if any?) for whom I can listen to and love every song...no, there are none.
*My favourite internet/youtube videos include, in no order:
-Charlie the Unicorn
-Paste by Brookers
-Harry Potter by Brookers
-OMG Shoes
-The Internet is for Porn
-Pachelbel Rant
-Monster's gonna kick my ass
-Harry Potter/Southpark 1
*The best music era in my opinion is anything from the 90s, some music from early 2000s
*Best friends are generally a no-no for me, the closer I am with someone, the farther they become with their other friends, completely unintentionally
*I rarely buy anything when I go shopping, but I love tagging along
*I have no fashion sense, I have this thing against brand names and excentricities, though sometimes I like what people wear, I know I'd either look weird in it, or people would give me too much attention
*I'd rather blend in than stand out, unless I'm in another city as previously mentioned
*I've always considered myself more of a country kid than a city slicker
*I love postsecret
*I was once accused of trying to kill my old best friend by her family-this would be M.R.
*I can't stand watching hockey unless the company's really good or if I'm actually at the rink, even then, I get distracted
*My favourite kind of dog is border collie, border collie mixed with black lab is great too
*When Super Smash Bros Brawl comes out for Wii, I'm getting someone with a Wii to go out to buy it, then I'm playing it.
*If I won a million dollars, let's face it, I wouldn't give too much to charities. Not to say I'd be selfish with it, either; yeah I'd keep a lot, but there's other things than charities. I'd probably give some to cancer research as I have a friend whose grandmother has cancer and it makes me so sad, or maybe parkinsons or something...other than that...yeah.
*I'm a sprinter, not a distance runner
*Back when Video on Trial was still funny, it was my favourite show
*I go to urbandictionary.com when I hear a word or term I don't know, rather than ask outright
*Apparently, I've listened to Hands Down by Dashboard Confessional 48 times since November, and that's only counting the times I listened to it in its entirety-playcount doesn't count it when I change the song a few seconds before it ends
*I've never broken a bone in my body, but I've had shin splints and a hyperextended elbow.
*I play guitar, flute, and can play keyboard
*I learned to play guitar by ear and up until this year could figure out pretty much any song with power chords, and some with finger picking and other chords...this year I took a guitar course, and now I can figure out many other songs.
*My favourite song to play in standard notation is Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
*My favourite movies often end with the main character dying
*I can't have anything artificially flavoured raspberry, it makes me feel sick
*I love cooking and baking
*I want to explore the United Kingdom someday
*I've never left the country
*I love painting with watercolours, though I don't paint as much as I used to
*I'm more inclined to the arts than science and math, whatwith drawing, painting, languages, music and acting in some cases, whereas I hate math, like bio and some aspects of physics and chemistry, but am simply not academically inclined enough.
*I pick up languages really fast, and my ear tuning abilities are quite good, seeing as I was frequently at the top of my class for ear training and deciphering what tone was what...yet have a conversation with me, and I'll often say "sorry...what was that?"
*I have quite the dirty mind when I want to, and can often be heard saying "that's what she said" (despite the fact that i'm a girl) "...in bed!" as well as many inuendoes and double-entendres
Holy man this is long, I'll be off for now.
