That's right! After more than a year and a half of typing, asking, listening, editing, proofreading, and waiting, the lyric page for the band known as 3 is finished. Joey Eppard was able to provide me with the missing song lyrics to the songs exclusive to the Half Life album after some technical difficulties were worked around, and the lyric project has come full circle.
Thank you to the readers for waiting this out and for using these lyrics for whatever purpose you may need them. This project of mine has garnered me trust and respect from the band I love more than anything in the world of music, and I couldn't feel better about my efforts. None of the time I put into this was wasted, and not a single effort was in vain. Being able to help 3 with anything and everything in my power seems to give me the feeling of importance, of being needed or possibly even wanted. Helping them is its very own reward, as I feel I owe them something for providing us, the listeners and fans, with such wonderfully fulfilling music, for driving themselves so far and so hard to play for each and every one of us, and for never losing sight of what is truly important in the life of an artist.
Thank you to the band for seeing me through this, for taking so well to the project, and for completely blowing away all expectations I had of you. When I watched you perform and talked with each of you personally, I was filled with such a strong feeling of...how do I put it into words...complete awe.
Watching you perform was simply jaw-dropping, and without exaggeration, enlightening. To watch you guys do what you do best in front of such a small audience after driving so far in such a short time span was so incredibly eye-opening. I've never respected a band more than I respect you five men. Each and every one of you is inspiring beyond words, and I hope you finally catch the break you've deserved for so long.
Meeting you and talking with each of you personally was an incredible experience. If I'm being totally honest...I look up to you. You are the type of men I want to be, the type of men I want to strive to be. You're all so wise...so in tune with yourselves and what you're doing...and so god damn respectable. I've never met a group of guys so easy to talk to, and who listens to everything you have to say, the way you guys did for me. When I first met you at the Tucson show and you knew who I was when I mentioned my name, my heart jumped into my throat. You said I had a reputation of sorts among the band members, and that was the most flattering thing I've ever been told. For guys whom I look up to and respect so much to recognize and be excited to meet ME was such an indescribable feeling. Here I am, a fan of your band, being told that the very men I've been dreaming of meeting are excited to meet ME. You guys treated me like a friend, not a fan, and that experience completely humbled me. Then to top it all off, you go out of your way to pose with me for a few pictures, and Joey goes out of his way in such a busy, tight schedule to type up those last remaining song lyrics for me.
Joseph Eppard, Bill (William?) Riker, Joseph Stote, Daniel Grimsland, and Christopher Gartmann; you are role models - men I only wish I could be as great as. Musically and personally, being in your presence was an experience I'll never forget, and one that I selfishly hope befalls me again. Being in your presence had my heart skipping beats and put an irresistible smile on my face. You wowed me with your performances and even more with your personalities.
I'm proud to call 3 my absolute favorite band of all time. Your music inspires me and calms me unlike anything else out there. Thank you once again for everything. You are truly great men in a world gone sour.
Eternal friend and fan,
Lee Taggart
