The old willow tree bent low to the ground Its branches whisperin' without a sound A thousand secrets held in the breeze Just you and me beneath the leaves

Oh, I remember a time, a different sun When our story had just begun The river ran wild, the colors bled gold A forgotten tale, never to be told

The city lights feel cold and so bright A hollow echo in the fading light I tried to leave the past behind But it’s a ghost I can’t unbind

And I wonder if you ever feel the pull Back to that place, so beautiful Beneath the roots, a memory sleeps A promise the old willow keeps
