Iner City Unit are an acid punk outfit former in 1978 by former Hawkwind saxophonist Nik Turner. The original line also included guitarists Trev Thoms and Steve Pond. A popular draw on the UK alternative and free festival cuircuit they have issued a string of albums over the years included 'Inexess' (1979) 'Freakout' (1981) and 'The Presidents Tapes' (1983). They are still gigging and recording today, and also perform as an acid jazz outfit, with a slightly different line up as Nik Turners Fantastic All Stars.
