The Tobasco Donkeys are a group of friends who worked in Philmontʼs backcountry camps for many years. In 1999, they decided to record a CD of the music they loved to play at campfires so that they could share it with their friends and families. Their efforts produced Sawinʼ on the Strings, which became an instant classic beloved by Philmont staff and campers who wish to remember the magic of Philmont.
In 2007, they produced their second album, The Yarn Sessions, to capture more music that they had wished was on their first album. Using a yarn shop in Cimarron as their recording studio, they were able to include current Philmont Staff on their album. The result was a 23 song collection that has also been widely acclaimed.
