Audrey De Montigny

Audrey De Montigny was born on July 26, 1985 in Sainte-Julienne, Québec. At 5 years old, she started performing at school and sang for the Enfants Soleil. Influenced by Aretha Franklin and Whitney Houston, soul and R&B became the base of her musical culture.

At 18 years old, Audrey joined the cast for the television contest Canadian Idol. She made public performances on stage at John Basset Theatre, in front of thousand of viewers. Québec turned to its favorite. Audrey became the last female finalist and came in fourth place in 2003. Canadian Idol was a short preview of the job she had always dreamed of.

The young woman's popularity and her nice image did not leave the Canadian music industry indifferent. Soon, she signed to the major BMG for her debut album.

Audrey's debut album Audrey came out in April 2004. Her debut single Même Les Anges became a radio hit and spent eleven weeks at the first place in Québec charts. Her second single Dis-Moi Pourquoi has also been a radio hit. In early 2005, she began her first tour across Québec.

In September 2006, Audrey released her second album Si L'Amour Existe on her own label DEM. It included a duet with Steve Barakatt. A version for the English-speaking market, Take Me As I Am, came out in April 2007.

In 2008, she recorded Pire Que L'Amour, a duet with French singer Dick Rivers. The young singer also appeared on events like Plates for Parkinson's and Scrolls from China.


In 2010, the former Canadian Idol star put her career on hold to work as a real estate agent. She came back in 2012 with Aujourd'Hui Tout Va Changer, from her third album Un Seul Instant.
