As 2010 began, two church mates from the southern suburbs of Sydney, Matt Harris and Josh Pate, started giving each other voice and guitar lessons. Upon teaching and exploring each other’s style of music, they started hanging out at the local pond, writing songs inspired by their faith in God and His love for them.
Ponder wants to encourage people to worship God passionately, and have been doing so for the past few years. This acoustic duo has played at churches throughout NSW and QLD, bible study groups, various conferences, Blackstump, RICE, prayer events, KYCK... all for the glory of Jesus.
Now ambassadors of Baptist World Aid Australia, Ponder encourages an overflow of worship from music into action.
Preparations are nearly finished for the launch of the new album, entitled "To Gather Together", to be released in June. This album joyfully celebrates the unity of disciple-makers as they meet and praise God. The single "Every Second" (Delight)" declares our need for God in every moment, in every second of our lives; no matter what circumstance we find ourselves in, whether good or bad, we can delight in Jesus.
