It doesn't take a zealot to admit that one loves God and has found peace with him. Even though I'm not a religious person, I think the song is more beautiful now that I find that it's about one's spiritual awakening.

I’m not a religious person either. Religion is a form of bondage. It’s about having a personal relationship with Christ. I’m a reborn follower of Christ, 4 yrs now & let me tell you…I’ve never loved anyone or anything more than I love Jesus.
