i finally got a working sense this time
it's been your fear for years, it's been a crime
and i hide out half the year blocked by the sun
it's alright, we're not hurting anyone
that's fine, we're not hurting anyone
even timing mostly makes it
fine enough i suppose

and we breathe in, cause you never try and run
hiding out is all you've ever done
hiding out just four stops from the sun
and you wonder why we'd ever wanna go
it's alright, we're not hurting anyone
that's fine, we're not hurting anyone
even timing mostly makes it
fine enough i suppose you know it all
fine enough i suppose

on and on like anabuse*, what i mean it feels like self-abuse
on and on like anabuse, what i mean it feels like self-abuse
on and on like anabuse, on and on and on...
it's alright, we're not hurting anyone
that's fine, we're not hurting anyone
on and on like an abuse, on and on like an abuse
but we're all martians now

General CommentThis is the first song which got me into Armchair Martian nearly 2 years ago, it is really great. Difficult to decide what it means though. I think it could be about him feeling like he isn't getting anywhere in his life, all he is doing is hanging around his same old friends (the communion of friends). I think in this communion they most likely take drugs or alcohol or both a lot, "I've finally got a working sense this time" makes it seem like he usually has a fuzzy head lol. There is a lot of paranoia and secrecy amongst this communion. Also, anabuse is a substance which recovering alcoholics take, it is referenced in the song as a simile: "on and on LIKE anabuse", so it could be that he does not take this substance but he is referring to the state of leaving this communion (or being in this communion) is like recovering from something which is killing you, but it hurts him to leave but it must be done.

Oh well, that is my interpretation, hope I gave you all some ideas.
