Sunbeam, stop tugging me
Pull that door shut quietly
Darling, what are you doing?
We don't have time for this

Mmm dey mmm da mmm daaeeoo
Mmm dey mmm da mmm daaeeoo

Crazy what are you then?
Give me an hour and I'll give you your dreams

Don't make a sound
Shh and listen
Keep your head down
We're not safe yet
Don't make a sound
And be good for me
Cause I know the way to somewhere out here

Leave it I won't go back
We have to do it 'cause it's not been left here
Don't care what do they know
I've seen them, baby, and I know it's real
Sure, in time, I knew they'd come
Oh, are we having fun or what?

Yeah

Don't make a sound
Shh and listen
Keep your head down
We're not safe yet
Don't make a sound
And be good for me
Cause I know they're waiting somewhere out here

I feel good all over
I feel good all over
I feel good all over

Even inside out

You know,,,, its such a shame that an artist who is sooooooooo unique, lyrically, musically, with such incredibly music production, thats like no other Ive never heard before isnt such a HUGE STAR,,, I mean ,,, emmies,,, etc,,,,,Im a musician and just started listening to frou frou recently,,,, and i never get chills when i listen to a new artist,,, i can say that Imogen and her music TOTALLY TOTALLY blew me away,,, and continues to do so,,,,,In a way im a little glad she's not reached that status though,,,, her music would get over played,,,,,kind of nice to keep her to myself,,,,,Lee from Toronto,, leerollo@msn.com add me if you want to discuss,,,,, anyone who loves this singer has to be a friend..... hugs

I love this song so much, especially the music after she says "wear your inside out" However, I don't think this song is about sex, and if it is, it definitely shows the beauty in it, which Imogen Heap is amazing at doing. I thought it said "I've seen their baby and I know it's real" Moreover; to me this song is about being surrounded by fake people in a worn-out place, and running away with the person you love.

hmm - i usually hate these 'alian abduction' theories, seems like every is so determined to turn any slightly ambiguous song into an abduction! drives me wild. but i think that it might actually work with this song, especially if that is what frou frou says it is about! surely if anyone knows, they do? But its evidently a positive event to the singer. maybe its not so much about alien abduction per say, but about the notion of there being 'something other' than what is, something that can believed in, a better way of life, contrary to popular opinion - everyone calls her crazy. and its certainly been made to sound like its about a secret sexual affair, frou frou must have been aware that they were putting a sexual spin on it. so i propose that it is using an alien narrative to talk about general faith and escape, the courage to believe in the reality of 'crazy' dreams - and more specifically in the context of a secret sexual affair. Is that too subtle and complicated and clever to be true?

    Song Meaning

The only way to understand this song, is to understand her "Let Go" track. What the average person does not know, is that most of what is described as "angels" or "star children" in religious books and native cultures writing are in fact visitors. You find them in books from Bible to Sumerian texts. They were the angels who conveyed knowledge and instruction from "God" a long time ago.

This song basically the voice of her, Frou Frou, and them, the visitors. She, Frou is enlightened. She probably studied these things or stumbled across it out of curiousity. Having an obvious knowledge of meditation and from what I can only assume to be chakra aligning, she well, "burst the bubble". She better describes this in her track "Let Go." She literally sees a large portion of the light specturm that we cannot see, which adds up to about 99% of all light visible and "non-visible". It's normally referred to "The Kingdom of God". Rather beautiful to say the least. "Give me an hour and I'll give you your dreams" is bout the time it takes to activate specific, but will remain nameless, key points in the body and brain, and then let nature do the rest. That line is "them" talking to YOU, that is, if you understand.

Chances are, Frou Frou is now communicating a message to whoever is blessed enough to understand. Chances are, she has her 3rd eye open and is probably overwhelmed. When she is saying "I've seen them baby and I know it's real", she is really just refering to UFOs which anyone can do research on. Chances are she saw one in real life, so that probably changed her as a human being. It is entirely possible that these visitors revealed themselves to her while she was in deep meditation, sort of like the prophets of old. She is not the only artist who is like this, 90 percent of all music you listen to refers to this in some way. Coldplay, RHCP, U2, Moby, Jack Johnson, The Verve, I could go on and on.

Then God said, "Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness."

I guarantee if you read your Bible again, you will see some things you will surely notice now.

it definetly says in the lyric pamphlet that it is " crazy well what are you then- give me an hour and i'll give you your dreams" ...it has to be about sex.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
