Summer's gone, day's spent with the grass and sun
I don't mind to pretend I do seems really dumb

I rise as the morning comes
Crawling through the blinds
I shouldn't be up at this time
But I can't sleep with you there by my side

Wake up it's a beautiful morning
The sun shining for your eyes
Wake up it's so beautiful
For what could be the very last time

Twenty five, don't recall a time I felt this alive,
So wake up boo, there's so many thing's for us to do

It's early so take your time
Don't let me rush you please
I know I was up all night
I can do anything, anything, anything

Wake up it's a beautiful morning
The sun shining for your eyes
Wake up it's so beautiful
For what could be the very last time

Wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up
Wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up

But you can't blame me now for the death of someone
But you can't blame me now for the death of someone
But you've gonna say, what you want to say
You have to put the death in everything

(Wake up)
Wake up it's a beautiful morning
The sun shining for your eyes (wake up)
Wake up it's so beautiful
For what could be the very last time (wake up)

Wake up it's a beautiful morning
The sun shining for your eyes (wake up)
Wake up it's so beautiful
For what could be the very last time (wake up)

NAAAaahhhh.....Of course there is a character in To Kill A Mockingbird called Boo Radley. That's who the band is named after!

Has there ever been a happier song. It just makes you wanna get up and scream the lyrics. What a song.

I know what you mean ramagamma, just makes you want to clap your hands and say yeah! This song paints a nice picture in my head of a dreary winter day but the guy is still optimistic and embraces the day and everything that will occur in the future.

This is my least favourite Boo Radleys song. I think they desperatly wanted a number 1 song and so attempted to suppress their cool subtle indie ways and focus on the task at hand and acheive their dream. In a way the song is pretty self referential, like a big slap on the face. Problem is, the song is naff and don't think they couldn't sustain writing naff songs in order to be famous. I love all their other songs though, and Giant steps is an amazing album.

actually, this song was written on an acid trip, at least from what was written on the website. i do like this song, as it's extremely fun to dance to. even in the summer. even though in the song the summer's gone. but i also like other songs. fairfax scene is good.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
