"Feelin' The Same Way" as written by and Lee Alexander....
The sun just slipped its note below my door
And I can't hide beneath my sheets
I've read the words before so now I know
The time has come again for me

And I'm feelin' the same way all over again
Feelin' the same way all over again
Singin' the same lines all over again
No matter how much I pretend

Another day that I can't find my head
My feet don't look like they're my own
I'll try and find the floor below to stand
And I hope I reach it once again

And I'm feelin' the same way all over again
Feelin' the same way all over again
Singin' the same lines all over again
No matter how much I pretend

Oh, yeah, oh, yeah

So many times I wonder where I've gone
And how I found my way back in
I look around awhile for something lost
Maybe I'll find it in the end

And I'm feelin' the same way all over again
Feelin' the same way all over again
Singin' the same lines all over again
No matter how much I pretend

Feelin' the same way all over again
Feelin' the same way all over again
Singin' the same lines all over again
No matter how much I pretend
No matter how much I pretend, ah, ah

General CommentI love Norah Jones and I listen to her cd constantly and untill the other day I didn't realize what this song was about. Her songs can speak to you completely differently depending on what sort of mood you're in. To me, this song is clearly about being depressed. She takes a softer more sublte approach about it but I'm pretty sure thats what she's saying.

General CommentThis is about falling in love with someone and the spooky feeling you get just as you realize its happening. Could also be someone you loved a long time ago and haven't seen in a while and then you see them again and you still feel the same way about them. Its scary. You try to pretend you don't feel it and hope it will go away but it doesn't.

General CommentWhat an upbeat expression of a depressive mood! I love how the hypnotic instrumentation and repeated phrases convey the mixed state of emotions. There is definitely a progressive feel to the piece; a invigorating sense of realization, a "been there felt that" and a motive to move on. She still hasn't found that something itching away at the bottom of it all, but then again, not finding that something shouldn't stop anyone. Brilliant.

General Commentalthough i can definitely see this being about love, my interpretation is that it's depression.

    first verse and chorus:
after you've been down a number of times before and you suddenly find yourself back in that downward spiral, you realize you've become accustomed to it. you know what to expect, and "no matter how much [you] pretend," you're back there again and you're just going to have to get through it.

    second verse:
even if you've made it out of that down before, and you're pretty sure you'll be okay, there's always that feeling that maybe this time you'll stay like this f o r e v e r. sometimes that's scary, and sometimes it almost doesn't matter.

    third verse:
when you do come out of it, you remember that feeling. you wonder, how did i get there? how could i feel so bad then, and fine now? but you know there's no guarantee that you won't be right back in that bad place next week, and you wonder if you'll ever find something that makes you feel entirely "right"

or, at least, that's what i think.

General Commenti think there could be a few ways to look at this song....some people think it could be about love.....well for me this song has a different meaning. to me, this song is about how she's bored with her life and she wants to find something more, something bigger, because she thinks that if she finds it, she'll be happier. since she hasn't found it yet, she's still unhappy, but she'll keep looking for true happiness

General CommentI think this song is about a hangover! Not wanting to get out of bed, dont know where your belongings are, don't know how you got home, promising you wont ever drink again. I always listen to this when i'm hungover, eases the pain a little.

General CommentI don't think I can ever say enough about her. The first time I heard Norah sing I ran out and got her album, and this is by far my favorite song on it. I don't know if it's her voice or the lyrics but it's so amazing. She is truely a breath of fresh air.

General CommentThis song is by far my absolute favorite Norah song. It's like she read my mind. This song is about lost love. Being fine when you're on your own...without them, but the second you see them again, the second you dream of them again, all those feelings you had come rushing back, and you can't stop them and they don't go away. And even worse, you don't want them to go away, you want to stay in your dreams because they're there. Everything you see, everything that is, is as such because you're not willing to admit you miss them. And still love them all the same.

No matter how much I pretend.

Maybe she's been hurt previously in relationships, and just got out of a bad one. She remember the pain and regret, and she's hesitant about starting something new again. She doesn't want to suffer through that pain again. But... she's feelin' it all over again, the same butterflies and giddiness whenever she sees that other person, and cannot wait to be with that person again.

No matter how much she pretends. She's falling in love all over again...
