"Friends" as written by Andrew Forward, Katherine Ludlow, Glynn Merriman, Lee Murphy and Brian Smith....
Packing up the dreams God planted
In the fertile soil of you
Can't believe the hopes He's granted
Means a chapter in your life is through
But we'll keep you close as always
It won't even seem you've gone
'Cause our hearts in big and small ways
Will keep the love that keeps us strong

And friends are friends forever
If the Lord's the Lord of them
And a friend will not say never
'Cause the welcome will not end
Though it's hard to let you go
In the Father's hands we know
That a lifetime's not too long
To live as friends

With the faith and love God's given
Springing from the hope we know
We will pray the joy you'll live in
Is the strength that now you show
But we'll keep you close as always
It won't even seem you've gone
'Cause our hearts in big and small ways
Will keep the love that keeps us strong

And friends are friends forever
If the Lord's the Lord of them
And a friend will not say never
'Cause the welcome will not end
Though it's hard to let you go
In the Father's hands we know
That a lifetime's not too long
To live as friends

And friends are friends forever
If the Lord's the Lord of them
And a friend will not say never
'Cause the welcome will not end
Though it's hard to let you go
In the Father's hands we know
That a lifetime's not too long
To live as friends
No, a lifetime's not too long
To live as friends

General CommentThis is my absolute favorite. When my best friend had to move I gave her the lyrics to this song to remember me by.

General CommentThis song brings tears to my eyes. My good friend was only 15, and she passed away in a car accident. Me and a couple of her friends sang this song at her funeral. We could totally relate to it. "But we'll keep you close as always, It won't even seem you've gone".

General CommentRight after the columbine high school shootings I was skimming through the channels and stopped for a memorial they were having outside the school. Smith was up there playing this and it brought a tear to my eye. It was very emotional for the people attending, almost a little to much for a day that was already very emotional.

General CommentMy grade sang this song for our 8th grade graduation. Now that we're seniors, it's going to mean so much more this year.
