"Heroin, She Said" as written by and Peter/reinhardt Heppner....
walking down the streets at night
i see her stumbling through the rain
a skinny figure in the dark
her face a shade of grey

begging here and barking there
she´s swearing all the time
her fingers fumbling with her hair
a dirty mess of grime

and she starts to cry and she´s asking why
her life´s always the same
but she does not see, that unfortunately
there´s no one here to blame

"heroin" she said, "was the best i had...
no more mountains left to climb.
the world so slow... all my dreams just too high
to be fulfilled in time...!"

she grabs my arm... and i feel alarmed
her fingers gripping tight
i see her pleading eyes... so i start to diguise
and say, that everything´s alright...

and the reason why i pretended and lied
is that i don´t want to kill
the poor dream that´s left in the deepest cleft
of the thing that she calls will...!

"heroin" she said...

General CommentThis really reminds me of a certain girl I know that lived from high to high, but as soon as she wasn't everything went to hell. She managed to turn her life around eventually though when she had her baby, and (thank God or whoever), her baby was normal, but whenever I hear this song I remember the days when we were all sure she might die at any time. I hope her son never sees the person that's described in the song.

General CommentThis is a great song, the music has such a dirty sound to it and the lyrics really get the vibe accross... I really like this band.... yeah. I'm so shitfaced!

General CommentYea..I don't think an in-depth analysis of the lyrics is required here. It's still an awesome song.

General CommentThis really is a great song, like most i was introduced to it at the club, but after picking up Spectators and Casting Shadows i seldom find myself listening to it. I think this song was always pretty self explanatory in its meaning. Now i've never done heroin, so i can't speak from experience, but i imagine it likely is speaking from the point of "once you've spent your life high on heroin, everything else seems pointless when you're not high". But, like someone else said, in depth exam not really neccesary ;-).
