Can't believe that it's over, baby
But every bruise on my heart, you gave me
See, we'd try, but we'd fight, then we'd cry
Now it's over, babe, it's over, babe
Can't believe that it's over, baby
But every bruise on my heart, you gave me
See, we'd try, but we'd fight, then we'd cry
So it's over, babe, it's over, babe

When I met you, I knew you would be the one for me
'Cause looking at you had me feeling kind of crazy
Now, what you asked, I almost did it automatically
But it was nothing compared to the joy you gave me
Although I know that what we had, it wasn't perfect, babe
You fooled around, but see, back then it didn't phase me
I thought by staying, tryna change you would be worth it, babe
But now I see that tryna change you only changed me

All these tears
And all of your lies
All these years
And now we're saying goodbye
It's over, babe

Can't believe that it's over, baby
But every bruise on my heart, you gave me
See, we'd try, but we'd fight, then we'd cry
Now it's over, babe, it's over, babe (over, babe)
Can't believe that it's over, baby (over, babe)
But every bruise on my heart, you gave me
See, we'd try (tried), but we'd fight (fight), then we'd cry (cry)
So it's over, babe (over, babe) it's over, babe

Now, I'm thinking that I never shoulda dealt with you
All this screaming and this yelling that we go through
Raining late at night, I'm sitting, waiting up for you
Just to tell you how I hate who you turned into
See, ain't no way I'm gonna sit and take this shit from you
I'll never play another day of being your fool
I've wasted all my time on something that just wasn't true
I should have known I could never ever change you

All these tears
And all of your lies
All these years
And now we're saying goodbye
It's over, babe

Can't believe that it's over, baby
But every bruise on my heart you gave me
See, we'd try, but we'd fight, then we'd cry
Now it's over, babe, it's over, babe (over, babe)
Can't believe that it's over, baby (over, babe)
But every bruise on my heart you gave me
See, we'd try (try), but we'd fight (fight), then we'd cry (cry)
So it's over, babe, it's over, babe

I'll never forget what you did to me
So I'm gone, I'm leaving, leaving, baby
I'll never forget what you did to me
So I'm gone, I'm leaving, leaving, baby
Whenever you see me, don't even speak
I'll never forget what you did to me
Whenever you see me, don't even speak
I'll never forget what you did to me

Can't believe that it's over, baby
But every bruise on my heart you gave me
See, we tried, but we fight, then we cried
Now it's over, babe, it's over, babe (over, babe)
Can't believe that it's over, baby (over, babe)
But every bruise on my heart you gave me
See, we'd try (try), but we'd fight (fight), then we'd cry (cry)
So it's over, babe (over, babe) it's over, babe (over, babe)
Can't believe that it's over, baby
But every bruise on my heart you gave me (cry)
See, we'd try (try), but we'd fight (fight), then we'd cry (cry)
Now it's over, babe (it's over, babe) it's over, babe (over, babe)
Can't believe that it's over, baby (it's over, babe)
But every bruise on my heart you gave me (over, babe)
See, we'd try (we'd try) but we'd fight (we'd fight), then we'd cry (we'd cry)
So it's over, babe (over, babe) it's over, babe (over, babe)

I'll never forget what you did to me
So I'm gone, I'm leaving, leaving, baby
I'll never forget what you did to me
So I'm gone, I'm leaving

This is the best line, "I thought by staying, trying to change you would be worth it babe, but now I see that trying to change you only changed me." Because it is SO true

I LOVE this song. it's so kickass. I love "I'll never forget what you did to me so I'm gone I'm leaving leaving baby. Whenever you see me don't even speak" and "I'm sitting waiting up for you just to tell you how I hate who you turned into" because i feel that way about my ex.. very good song:)

this song is so true. its about falling on lvoe with them, and then they change, so you have to end it because they just aren;t the same anymore. these are the lines which i think are prety self explanatory and tell you what the song is about, but above everything they are the ones i can really relate to:

"I thought by staying, trying to change you would be worth it babe, but now I see that trying to change you only changed me." - shes saying that she put up with what eh did wrong, ebcause she thought she could change him back to how he used to be when she fell in love with him. but now she can see that doing that only changed her, not in a good way.

"I'm sitting waiting up for you just to tell you how I hate who you turned into" thats exactly how i felt about a boy, relates to me well.

"I wasted all my time on something that just wasn't true, I should have known I could never ever change you." shes realising she should have known better than to let him fuck with her head by thinking he was something different to what he was, a prick.

"I'll never forget what you did to me so I'm gone I'm leaving, leaving baby. I'll never forget what you did to me so I'm gone I'm leaving, leaving baby. " shes telling hims hes going, and shes never coming back because she will always remember the shit he put her through and how badly he treated her and how he made her sad. great break up song because, well for me anyway, it applies perfectly

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.
