Walking
Waiting
Alone without a care
Hoping
Hating
Things I can't bear

Did you think it's cool
To walk right up
And take my life
And fuck it up
Well did you?

I see hell in your eyes
Taken in by surprise
Touching you makes me feel alive
Touching you makes me die inside

Walking Waiting
Alone without a care
Hoping
Hating
Things I can't bear

Did you think it's cool
To walk right up
And take my life
And fuck it up
Well did you?

I hate you

I see hell in your eyes
Taken in by surprise
Touching you makes me feel alive
Touching you makes me die inside

I've slept so long without you
It's tearing me apart too
How'd it get this far
Playing games with this old heart
I've killed a million pretty souls
But I couldn't kill you

I've slept so long without you
I see hell in your eyes
Taken in by surprise
Touching you makes me feel alive
Touching you made me die inside

actually lestat is singing to marius, if u read the series marius is who made lestat into a vampire and hes singing to marius, basically lestat is saying why me to marius. why did u choose me to become a vampire "Did you think it's cool To walk right up And take my life And fuck it up Well did you?" bascially marius abandoned lestat later on and thats how marius fucked up lestats life

yes, these lyrics are totally beautiful and awesome. I think the song is about someone you hate but love. "I've slept so long without you, it's tearing me apart too.", "Did you think it's cool to walk right up, to take my life and fuck it up?"...

i'm guessing this song is about lestat and jesse. Basiclly lestat is singing this to jesse.

the first section of the song is how lestat is feeling, then he is talking about how she walked into his life and started to fuck things up. then the chorus, when he first met her it was at the admorals arms and she was surprised by her knowledge of him, "clever librarian". then towards the end he talking about how he is like that she is a moral and he is kinda falling in love with her and he couldnt kill her because of that.

i really like this song, i wish that john davis would be able to sing it though, but the current singer for it is also very good

i don't know... i think it can kind of be reversed to jesse singing to lestat. and also, jay gordon's singing in this song is better than jon davis' in the movie. jon's version was just... ugh.. you know? but, jon rocks my socks! i love korn and all, but his voice just dusn't right for the song... But also, it could be Lestat singing to Akasha... you know, she just came along and fucked up everything. and he couldn't kill her... without killing himself as well. you must stop drinking before the heart stops.

Techno - except for the fact that the movie fucked up everything in the dialogue. She went to meet him at his concert to see if he was real. She was astonished that he was a real vampire; she was astonished by the fact that he knew her name. It made no mention of her being a librarian in the book, except for the work she did in the Talamasca. One of my many quarks with the movie....twitch

A god point when interpreting the Lyrics from Queen of the Damned is to forget the book in it entirety, it will only confuse you as it had me for so many a night, The way I look at it is this...The Song Is written for Marius who after Taking Lestat from his "world" leaves him without so much as a godbye when Lestat find Akasha's and Enkil's resting place, in the Medditerainian Isles. (Now I know this is a far departure from the book) Now Alot of People may say that the song was written for Jese but thats not possible, because when the movie starts the song has already been wirtten, and Lestat and Jesse don't meet until about halfway through...

And to Loon, I feel your pain man, though my saituation is a bit different...

My ex, and I met in a very similar fashion she just walked right up to me and we started talking...(do you think it's cool to walk right up to take my life and fuck it up, Right?), well she changed my entire way of thinking and after just over nine moonths told me she didn't want to be with me...(this was in august), since then I miss holding her in my arms (I've slept so long without you, It's tearing me apart to!)

Well thats my little speil for today, Good Fright, Good night

All of you are idiots! MARIUS didn't make Lestat!!! He only made Armand, Pandora, and a few other vampires. Read the book BLOOD AND GOLD...jesus if your going to say something about Anne Rice's novel get your shit strait! oh and p.s. this song is about Akasha. "I've killed a million petty souls, but I couldn't kill you," its about his ability to forget. He killed many people and their souls died, but the memory of Akasha burns within him.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
