I'm over it!
You see I’m falling in the precipice...
Clouded by memories of the past...
At last…I see

I hear it fading, I can't speak it,
or else you will dig my grave;
You feel them finding, always whining...
take my hand now be alive!

You see I cannot be forsaken,
because I’m not the only one,
We walk amongst you feeding, raping...
Must we hide from everyone?

I’m over it.
Why can't we be together embracing,
sleeping so long, taking off the mask,
At last…I see

I hear it fading, I can't speak it,
or else you will dig my grave,
You feel them finding, always whining...
Take my hand now be alive!

You see I cannot be forsaken,
because I’m not the only one,
We walk amongst you feeding, raping...
Must we hide from everyone? (x2)

Everyone...
Everyone...
Everyone…

Shouldn't it be "You see I'm falling in a vast abyss"?

this song speaks to me moreso than any song that I have ever heard before.....the entire song describes my life/lives.....either literally or metaphorically.....the one line that keeps me going and has finally made me see....'You see I cannot be forsaken, because I'm not the only one' ......when I have felt that I would be discarded because of the things that I am.....I think about those words and realize that there is on possible way that I am the only one that believes and thinks as I do....and it comforts me....

this song is about how Lestat is tired of his vampire ways...

I'm over it! You see I’m falling in a vast abyss... Clouded by memories of the past... At last…I see

and how if he talks about the other vampires will try to kill him...

I hear it fading, I can't speak it, or else you will dig my grave

and how he's tired of them bitching at him...

You feel them finding, always whining... take my hand now be alive!

he also feels that they cant just cast him aside...

You see I cannot be forsaken

and that its bullshit to hide who you are!

because I’m not the only one, We walk amongst you feeding, raping... Must we hide from everyone?

I think Jon Davis did a great job on the making of this song

Lestat definately is tired of hiding his greatness from the world. He refuses to be condemned to a life of secrecy any longer. Jonathan Davis did a good job of capturing Lestat's bold nature. The novie was a horrid work unworthy of existance, but the music was a saving grace. If you do not connect it with the novels, it's a fun movie, though. But definately, Jonathan Davis is amazing.

wow this one was pretty obvious... its lestat saying that he is tired of having to hide that he is a vampire and he is letting the people know that he is a vampire and that there are more like him pretending to be mortal

This song is saying what Lestat feels, he wanted to be famous and let everyone know that he was a vampire and he knew that if he told everyone other vampires would find out and want him dead cause it's forbidden to let people know your secret of who you are (vampire) This is what Lestat and Marius was talking about, some in the beginning of the movie and some when they were on the billboard. Lestat thinks it's crazy to hide who you really are and he questions why others want to do just that.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Zombie
Cranberries, The
"Zombie" is about the ethno-political conflict in Ireland. This is obvious if you know anything of the singer (Dolores O'Riordan)'s Irish heritage and understood the "1916" Easter Rising reference. "Another head hangs lowly Child is slowly taken And the violence caused such silence Who are we mistaken - Another mother's breaking Heart is taking over" Laments the Warrington bomb attacks in which two children were fatally injured on March 23rd, 1993. Twelve year old Tim Parry was taken off life support with permission from his mother after five days in the hospital, virtually braindead. "But you see it's not me It's not my family" References how people who are not directly involved with the violence feel about it. They are "zombies" without sympathy who refuse to take action while others suffer.

Sunglasses at Night
Corey Hart
In the 1980s, sunglasses were a common fashion for people who wanted to adopt a "tough guy" persona (note all the cop shows from that era -- Simon & Simon, Miami Vice, etc. -- where the lead characters wore shades). So I think this song is about a guy who wears shades as a way of hiding his insecurity after learning that his girlfriend is cheating on him. He's trying to pretend that he's a "tough guy" to hide the fact that his girlfriend's affair is disturbing him.
