The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.
And when the sun, it turns to snow
And the grass doesn't grow
Don't laugh, I love you
I could look outside my window every day
But you wouldn't be there to there come and play
Don't laugh, I love you
Ernest Hemingway (Ernest Hemingway)
Would always be there for me (Would always be there for me)
But now (Ernest Hemingway) Ernest Hemingway is dead (is dead now)
If I could get you back someday
Don't you say you're going away
Don't laugh, I love you
And if you locked me in the sun
To the tinkle I would run
Don't laugh, I love you
Nu nu nu nu nu nu nu nu nu nu nu nu
Nu nu nu nu nu nu nu nu nu nu nu nu nu nu nu nu nu nu nu
I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you
Don't laugh, I love you
I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you
(oooh... ohhheee... watch it... giveittome... blahblahblah...
watchit... ooheee... give it to me, etc.)

This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version.
Great version of a great song,

I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example:
"'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.
I think he's reading a poem to a girl he likes and when she start's laughing he says, "Don't laugh" and then not saying it aloud but thinking "I love you"
Not sure about the hemmingway thing...
He says "locked"
It's pretty damn funny when Gener forgets the lyrics to this song on the Live In Chicago DVD, also the bass line is great.
This would be a bitchin' wedding song.
What the heck does "to the tinkle I would run" mean? I envision a little boy holding his crotch as he makes a run for the potty :) Seems a strange line for a love song, but then again it's Ween :)
It's a cute listen..
And among the small handful of songs from GodWeenSatan I enjoy!
I love that hemmingway quote. I will never know why though.

The Hemingway line is really odd, but it makes me laugh every time. I love this album! Way more than The Pod, anyway...
Best song on GodWeenSatan, and one of ween's best.
