How can it feel so nice?
Why does it feel so right?
I think I've been somewhere special
I want to go back there

Sleep
I think I will
Go back to sleep

Oh, it's so cold and shivery outside my cocoon
Now I'm on my way

Sleep
Oh sleep
Sleep.

This song is about holing up and not coming out into the outside world, almost as if the person was depressed. That's my take on it, at least -- I can relate to my interpretation.

That being said, this song always puts me to sleep. ;)

i think she is talking about living on dreams, in dreams everything can be perfect. so why stay awake faceing the awfull reality. The song is very soft, it makes me feel like im safe, it feels good.

That nostalgic, wistful feeling of awakening from a dream of bliss and beauty, in which all of your hopes and desires came true. I'm not sure if she could have picked a better instrument for this song than the violin in the beginning.

I feel in love with this song instantly. I reccomend it to anyone who loves soft/ relazing songs. It's so peacful, the way she sings it. This song always puts me to sleep, but not in a bad way. It's so beautiful that it lulls you to sleep.

I can relate to the interpretation above as well. And I'm listening right now to the song, before I go to sleep... Without mentioning that it is really cold and shivering outside (my cocoon) - in both meanings, the climate and the feeling of being safe while hidden from the world.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.
