I'm leaving here today.
I'm gonna go real far away from here.
I'm gonna find a girl like the one I met in high school.
But she's not gonna get away this time.
I'm gonna keep her by my side.
Not gonna lose my grip on you.
I'm gonna somehow make it through this time.
Not gonna fuck up like I did back then.
Maybe I'll even fall in love again.

[Chorus] And when I try to make things right.
I always seem to lose the fight.
Can't seem to hold on to my life.
So I go on through the pain.
That's why I'm leaving here today.
Won't make it any other way.

Cigarettes & sleep are the only things that keep me from losing my mind maybe in time you'll know that.
Without you I am nothing I have always acted blind.
I'm never coming home because you left me all alone last night and you never even showed up in the morning.
And so I try to find a way to hold it in.
I guess you win this time.
Good friends are hard to find.

[Repeat Chorus]

this song is saying how she was the only one that made him make it through his days. then he fell in love with her and she left him. he doesnt want to go back to his house because it reminds of all the memories they have together so he'll go away so its not always on his mind. he also makes the point that good friends arent the easiest to find or in that case keep. It's hard to trust people and you always wind up trusting the wrong people

I think this song is about when he was in high school, and he had alot of fun, good friends a girl friend, and great memories. but as he gets older, those good things end, and he realizes that hanging around his old home is just bringin him donw, so he want to leave, start over, and make a new life, and forget about how he was hurt...or whatver, but whatver this song is about, i love it!!

This song reminds me of a girl who I meet in high school, dated for just over five years and eventually broke up with (mutally, well sorta'). Only since which I've never meet a girl like her, curiosity does kill the cat, in that I was curious of what else was out there beside her, now I know and maybe it'll be a long painful death for me...

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"
