Sweet in winter sweet in rain
Shake well before use she said
You never touch me anymore this way
Connector in
Receiver out
You let me in through the back door
Ride the sainted rhythms on the midnight train to romford
Ride the sainted rhythms

Sweet in winter sweet in rain
Shake well before use she said
You never touch me anymore this way

Oh no

Connector, connector, connector, connector
You're a connector, connector, connector, connector

I'm so dirty
And the light blinds my eyes
You're oh so dirty
And the light it blinds my eyes
Here comes christ on crutches

Call me wet trampoline she said today
Well I was too busy with my hand
Shake well before use she said
But you never touch me anymore
I was busy listening for phone sex
Coming through the back door
In skin-tight trunks
And we all went mental and danced

I get my kicks on channel six
To the off-peak electricity
And the light blinds my eyes
And I feel dirty
And the light blinds my eyes
And I feel so shaken in my faith
Here comes christ on crutches
And here comes another god
Here comes another god
Like a buffalo thunder

With a smell of sugar
And a velvet tongue
And designer voodoo
And I got phone sex to see me through the emptiness in my 501s
Freeze-dried with a new religion
And my teeth stuffed back in my head

I get my kicks on channel six
I
I get my kicks on channel six

The light it burns my eyes
And I feel so dirty (feel so dirty)
Here comes christ on crutches (christ on crutches)

I will not be confused
Will not be confused
They left me confused
I will not be confused...with another man
This pressure of opinions
Lighten up
Listen to your eyes you said
But all I could see was doris day
In a big screen satellite
Disappearing down the tube hole on farringdon street
With whiplash willy the motor psycho

And the light it burns my eyes
And the light it burns my eyes
Get my kicks on channel six
I get my kicks on channel six

Like cyanogen said, it's about someone living their regular lives and somehow touching spitiual perfection, and not being able to deal with it- "I'm so dirty, and the light blinds my eyes." Sounds like the conversion experience of Apostle Paul. One of my favorite songs.

It's all about sex and sexual confusion. Possibly the woman in question enjoys receiving anal sex. When he finds he enjoys this he's convinced it makes him gay. Possibly he has a fascination with being a "receiver" as opposed to a "connector" or she convinced him to have a threesome with another man. He is assured in his heterosexuality and has found his faith shaken.

There are sexual metaphors everywhere but the best one is the reference to Doris Day. Her name is synonymous with Rock Hudson because they were always paired together in romantic comedies. Rock was a deeply closeted homosexual.

As far as I know, this song is about Underworld (illegally?) listening to people's phone conversation (channel 6? connector in. receiver out?). I learned this in an interview with them, and they said that it eventually became too much, because people laid their emotions bare, and there were all sorts of family secrets discussed (affairs, etc.).

This interpretation of the song make more sense if you listen to the remix, which features fragments of sentences rather than these lyrics.

resonator, that makes a lot of sense. i was inclined to agree with ANorthernSoul76 and say it had no particular meaning other than technological paranoia, sex and emotional dysfunction related to sex. Maybe this is them just venting their disgust about hearing all those sordid secrets and deceitful/duplicitous lives.

"freeze-dried with a new religion. and my teeth stuffed back in my head."

I love this line. I love how the whole song is about squalor and discomfort, but with this line you can really feel it, your teeth stuffed back in your head. Weird...

    Nice one, whybother?.

I was almost going to post that the song had no real meaning beyond themes of sex, porn and murkiness, but in one listening you've pulled me round to your view.

I love this tune because of the bleak and murky vibe. It does exactly what it says on the tin.

Does nobody else love the line "I get my kicks on channel 6"?

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
