"Light From A Dead Star" as written by and Miki Berenyi....
He lives his life in a world full of women
And he takes what he wants
from their love
And he throws the rest away

I cling to him and pray
But still he slips away
And now it's just too late
To wish him back again

She won't put up with this life
so she leaves him
And she finds someone else,
falls in love
And she travels far away

I say that it's okay
And swallow all my pain
And now it's just too late
To wish her back again

They left me here on my own
in a nightmare
And I just can't forgive anymore
So I smile and turn away

Don't listen when they say
They wish I could stay
And now it's just too late
To wish me back again

General Commentthe song is sooo melanchollie that s what i felt at first time i met with it.
    i cant help loving it.
but what im wondering is why the comments so few.
    is LUSH forgotten?
they re reallly an amusing band in the filed of shoegazing.

i love the days when i was with their music.
    they kept the memories alive
with the faces that would never come again
and the happy times that we shared
and it was me alone thinking about it now...

General CommentI read an interview with Lush back when this album came out in the NME, and Miki explained the man in this song is her absent father. The woman who moves far away is her mother, I believe that she ended up living with her grandmother who she didn't get on with as a result of their abandonment. Hence "They left me here on my own in a nightmare".

General Commenti agree...why so little comments on the lush site? i adore this band. i had the band at my wedding 9 years ago learn "lovelife" they actually did a ok job of it and my wife was very surprised i did that. this song is wonderful..very sad though like alot of mikki's lyrics tend to be. i heard there was alot of rumors about mikki and emma...so im wondering if this about emma? either way she is very sad. seems the guy takes what he wants from women and toss's the rest to the side. she still loves him anyway..i guess...i misss lush

General CommentBeautifully composed and performed, this delicate tune has a heavy meaning. This woman loves her man, but she just can't keep him. He slips away and lives with the pain because she can't imagine being anywhere else.

It's a situation I was once in, so I can definitely feel the pain radiating out of this song straight into my heart. One of my favorite songs, period.
