Dear my love, haven't you wanted to be with me
And dear my love, haven't you longed to be free
I can't keep pretending that I don't even know you
And at sweet night, you are my own
Take my hand

We're leaving here tonight
There's no need to tell anyone
They'd only hold us down
So by the morning's light
We'll be half way to anywhere
Where love is more than just your name

I have dreamt of a place for you and I
No one knows who we are there
All I want is to give my life only to you
I've dreamt so long, I cannot dream anymore
Let's run away, I'll take you there

We're leaving here tonight
There's no need to tell anyone
They'd only hold us down
So by the morning's light
We'll be half way to anywhere
Where no one needs a reason

Forget this life
Come with me
Don't look back, you're safe now
Unlock your heart
Drop your guard
No one's left to stop you

Forget this life
Come with me
Don't look back you're safe now
Unlock your heart
Drop your guard
No one's left to stop you now

We're leaving here tonight
There's no need to tell anyone
They'd only hold us down
So by the morning's light
We'll be half way to anywhere
Where love is more than just your name

Yeah yeah, yeah
Yeah yeah, yeah
Yeah yeah, yeah
Yeah yeah, yeah
Yeah yeah, yeah
Yeah yeah, yeah

sigh What a song!!! I guess it's the hopeless romantic in me that this song appeals to... Just the thought of leaving everything behind just to be with your love... wow....

I agree with the majority that this is a romeo type love song.

I also believe that its about duel suicide. She is asking him in the song to forget this pitiful life they life and that in death they shall be free.

In the end i believe that they did committe suicide and that they awakened in the afterworld that they wanted to be in.

thats why it sounds all "awakeningish". But thats just my opinion. i could go line by line and discribe it but it doesnt really matter

My interpretation is deep in my heart. I'm in a long distance relationship with a girl who is 3300kms away from me and theres nothing i can do to free her from the jail that is her parents house.

I want to leave my life here behind and she wants to leave her life there and we just want to run away together. She's the love of my life and, i'm not embarrased to say as a 19-year-old guy that this song brings me to tears.

We could never tell anyone. They wouldn't understand and fight to stop us. ("there's no need to tell anyone they'd only hold us down") But we cant live without eachother. So we'd run away and not tell anyone and just imagine the shock when we don't come back. ("so by the morning's light we'll be half way to anywhere")

Kind of off topic, but Im homosexual, and this song has a really deep meaning for me. Again with the whole forbidden love/Romeo and Juliet theme, for me it's about running away to somewhere my gf and I can live normally and not be judged <3

I think this song defenately has a Romeo/Juliet theme behind it. I think it's about a couple who no one wants to be together but their feelings are too strong for each other. Amy is dreaming of taking him away into a world where no one will tell them what to do and they can be free together.

THE best Evanescence song out of both cd's. I hope their style doesn't change now that they've made it big.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
