"The Burning Spear" as written by Robert Bert, Kim A. Godron, Thurston J. Moore and Lee M. Ranaldo....
I'm not afraid to say I'm scared
In my bed I'm deep in prayer
I trust the speed I love the fear
The music comes
The burning spear

General Commentprobably one of 2 things but could be many,
    1) insanity - as soooo many early sonic youth songs were about this it would be suggested that this is a default guess.
    2) night mares (or night scares) being scared lying in bed, imagining somethings in the room, praying for it to go away but still getting a kick out of it.

General CommentI think it's about sex. Scared to have sex. Maybe losing one's virginity or having sex with someone for the first time with that specific person. Obviously they're in bed. Trusting the speed, loving the fear. The music is the passion/orgasm/etc. The burning spear - his genitals are on fire ;-)

General CommentProbably this is about being afraid of the world, once the TV shows us everyday terrible things and we end up being overly afraid of be killed, stalked and all this kind of things... Isn't it right?
