(What y'all want?)
Unconditional Love (no doubt)
Talking bout the stuff that don't wear off
It don't fade
It'll last for all these crazy days
These crazy nights
Whether you wrong or you right
I'm a still love you
Still feel you
Still there for you
No matter what (hehe)
You will always be in my heart
With unconditional love

Verse One:

Come listen to my truest thoughts, my truest feelings
All my peers doing years beyond drug dealing
How many caskets can we witness
Before we see it's hard to live
This life without God, so we must ask forgiveness
Ask mama why God deserved to die
Witness the tears falling free from my eyes
Before she could reply
Though we were born without a silver spoon
My broken down TV, show cartoons in my living room (hey)
One day I hope to make it
A player in this game
Mama don't cry, long as we try
Maybe things change
Perhaps it's just a fantasy
A life where we don't need no welfare
Shit with our whole family
Maybe it's me that caused it
The fighting and the hurting
In my room crying cause I didn't want to be a burden
Watch mama open up her arms to hugging
And I ain't worried bout a damn thang, with unconditionl love

Chorus: 2x

In this game the lesson's in your eyes to see
Though things change, the future's still inside of me
We must remember that tomorrow comes after the dark
So you will always be in my heart, with unconditional love

Verse Two:

Just got the message you've been calling all week
Been out here hustling on these streets, ain't had a chance to speak
But you know, with you and me it's on G
We could never be enemies, cause you been such a good friend to me
Where would I be without my dogs
No wonder why when times get hard
Cause it ain't easy being who we are
Driven by my ambitions, desire higher positions
So I proceed to make Gs, eternally in my mission
Is to be more than just a rap musician
The elevation of today's generation
If could make 'em listen
Prison ain't what we need, no longer stuck in greed
Time to play and strategize, my family's gotta eat
When we make somethin out of nothing
No pleasure in the suffering, neighborhood would be good
If they could cut out all the busting
The liquor and the weed the cussing
Sending love out to my block
The struggle never stops (unconditional love)

Chorus

Verse Three:

I'll probably never understand ya ways
With everyday I swear I hear ya
Trying to change your ways while gettin paid at the same time
Just had a baby with the same eyes
Something inside, please let me die these are strange times
How come I never made it
Maybe it's the way the played it in my heart
I knew one day I gotta be a star
My hopes and all my wishes
So many vivid pictures, and all the currency
I'll never even get to see
This fast life soon shatter us
Cause after all the lights and screams
Nothing but my dreams matter
Hoping for better days
Maybe a peaceful night, baby don't cry
Cause everythang gonna be alright
Just lay your head on my shoulder
Don't worry bout a thang baby
Girl I'm a soldier (huh)
Never treated me bad, no matter who I was
You still came with that, unconditional love

Chorus 3x until fade

I love this song. It's so full of passion. It's prideful, but yet very modest, if that makes any sense. VERY real. That's what I love about Tupac. Whether it's a song like Unconditional Love or I Get Around, it's always real. RIP Tupac.

I think this song kind of tells about his life in order. He says 'come listen to my truest thoughts my truest feelings' just like an old man will say let me tell you a story. He's talking about how he was growing up with nothing and about the fights he got into with his mom. The second verse is when he moved away and started dealing 'Just got the message you've been calling all week been out here hustling on these streets, ain't had a chance to speak' and how he wishes that he wouldnt have to do it and how he wishes that poverty, drugs and cussing never existed. The third verse kind of describes how his life ended. He wishes he could have done more with his life. When he says 'after all the lights and screams nothing but my dreams matter' he is saying that after the shooting all he has is his mind. He is telling his mom to lay her head on his shoulder cuz he died like a soldier. IDK. I'm going through a lot of stuff right now so my mind is going every direction possible. I love my fiancee always and forever. Leave comments.

I love this song so much. I put it on a custom CD I made for my husband.

2pac had heart. You can't say that about most of today's rappers, and that's sad.

This was an emotional song 4 me 2 listen 2,and reminds me of how genuine his heart was..Its so obvious why hes dead after listening 2 the positive music hes made, the industry music is today would never have made it this far if pac wasnt dead..because the industry survives on fake ass music and selling sex is what the indutry had in mind when they decided 2 pac needed 2 die..

One of pac's least known songs, one of his best. Here's my interpretation:

The song is about unconditional love obviously BUT:

The First Verse is about his unconditional love for his mother.

The Second Verse is about his unconditional love for his friends.

And The Third Verse is about his unconditional love for his girlfriend, or some woman he loves.

My favorite line here is: "Cause after all the lights and screams; Nothing but my, dreams matter"

Also: The whole song is emotional, but to me- the saddest line is:

"So I proceed to make Gs, eternally in my mission Is to be more than just a rap musician The elevation of today's generation If could make 'em listen"

...because, it reminds us that Tupac was taken way too soon (when Malcolm X was 25, he was just some punk on the streets, when Einstein was 25, he was probably dropping out of school), who knows how much of an impact he woulda had if he had lived out the rest of his life.

D-Gen, i like ur concept, make us wander how pac would be if he was alive now.

Mama don't cry, long as we try Maybe things change

it's kind of a naive perspective

i cant emphisize more that it's the tone of his voice that adds all the emotions to the song.

Maybe it's me that caused it The fighting and the hurting In my room crying cause I didn't want to be a burden Watch mama open up her arms to hugging And I ain't worried bout a damn thang, with unconditionl love

this is another one of my fave bits

He's also an idealist, and it really shows through in these lyrics

Something inside, please let me die these are strange times How come I never made it Maybe it's the way the played it in my heart I knew one day I gotta be a star My hopes and all my wishes So many vivid pictures,

the vivid pictures, bit, you can feel his frustration in the song..

and all the bts everyone else mentioned. love this song

anyone reckon the tone f this chorus is VERY similar to life goes on, it coulc almost fit into the same beats,

This is a very emotional and touching song, which in my opinoin is one of 2Pac's best. However, the lyrics were actually not intended to be in his voice. After MC Hammer joined Death Row in 1996, 2Pac wrote this song and wanted Hammer to rap the lyrics. Hammer did eventually record a version of the song after Pac's death, but it was never offically released. A bootleg of Hammer's version did leak, however. If you listen closely though, Pac's version of Unconditional Love is of somewhat low quality and does not sound like a professional polished master when compared to the rest of the Greatest Hits album. When the 2Pac version of this song leaked (about 10 years ago), it was tagged with a voice saying "Power 106, where hip hop lives." It seems that this track at some point got exclusive airplay on Power 106. However, It would appear that they were not able to find the original vocal tracks for this song to make a final master. On the Greatest Hits album, the "tagged" parts were simply CUT out and cleverly replaced with small bits from another part of the song. Example1: ORIGINAL 1st verse "Wach mama open up her arms to hug me / And I ain't worried bout a damn thang, She still ("Power 106....") love me." ALBUM 1st verse "Wach mama open up her arms to hug me / And I ain't worried bout a damn thang, [paste] with unconditional love." Example2: ORIGINAL 2st verse "my family's gotta eat ("Power 106...."), tryin'a make somethin outta nuthin" ALBUM 2st verse "my family's gotta eat ("Power 106...."), [paste] -where would I-somethin outta nuthin." This pasted part was taken from earlier in the 2nd verse "'where would I' be without my doggs." 2Pac most likely recorded this track for Hammer so that he could learn the lyrics, which is a very common ghostwriting practice. It's arguable that this was the only intended purpose of him recording this particular song in his voice. He may have desposed of his original vocal tracks himself, as in the case of most instances of ghostwriting that the general public never hears about [ie. the original artists who write Jermaine Dupri's or Diddy's music etc.]. Most likely 2Pac did not want this song to be released in his voice. It was completely intended for MC Hammer. Nevetheless, though Hammer does a decent job of performing the song in his voice, in 2Pac's voice, it still remains one of his greatest songs to date.

He is telling you the three places to find love, the first verse is about family, the second about friends and the block, and third is a woman/romance. From what i know of 2 Pac, these are probably in order of importance as well.

He raps about moments in his own life but the underline structure and theme in each verse is Family/Friends/Females, the three places you find unconditional love

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
