I got no style
I'll take my time
All those losers on the piss again
I dose dose away

That's just the way it is
That's just the way it is

I've got trimm trabb
Like the flash boys have
And I can't go back
Let it flow, let it flow
I sleep alone
I sleep alone

That's just the way it is
Just the way it is
Just the way it is
Just the way it is
Just the way it is
That's just the way it is

I got trimm trabb
Like the flash boys have
And I can't go back
Let it flow, let it flow
I sleep alone
I sleep alone
I sleep alone
I sleep alone

I got no style
I'll take my time
All those losers on the piss again
I dose dose away

It's just the way it is
It's just the way it is

I've got trimm trabb
Like the flash boys have
And I can't go back
Let it flow, let it flow
I sleep alone
I sleep alone
I sleep alone
I sleep alone

    His voice is so sad.

That's just the way it is... just the way it is, just the way it is.

this song is obviously about the emptiness of consumer culture. the main character spends all his time trying to keep up with trends. he's got his trimm trabs just like the cool kids, but he's still alone at the end of the day.

I've got a pair of Trimm Trab. They're the greatest trainers ever made.

Coincidentally a cracking tune about the moronic lad culture which ultimately results in emptiness, a feeling the song conveys perfectly.

    =(

An incredibly sad song. I love the guitar..

Ok. To me, Trimm Trabb = say...an incurable illness. Compare it to HIV. Damon being tested HIV positive...A person with HIV who's given up on any further hope, and now simply accepts his grim fate...rotting away, day by day. Just the way it is, Just the way it is.
I can't help it. "Let it flow". Let the infected blood flow through my veins, for I can't stop it. Just the way it is. Let it flow. I don't know the definiton of a 'flash boy', yet when the above is applied, Damon sleeps alone, as not to inflict his illness on another.

    I don't know. =(

Well, i've never tried to decipher lyrics to be honest cos i spend long enough writing my own, but i think it may not be as bad as LetitFlow says. (no offence dude) Maybe he's talking about the 'Lad' image he grew to hate so much? Trim trab are a make of trainers, "like the flash boys have". He may be also admitting that due to his being part of the 'lad' culture of the 90's, no matter what he does he will always be remembered for it. "I cant go back". Thats just my thoughts tho, so please feel free to add to it

I once looked up Trimm Trabb and came across the fashion reference. Since it's a sad song in a way.. i think he may just feel regret about being part of that cultural subset back in the day.. but we are what we are.. and despite regrets.. it's part of who he is now.. what you were in the past is part of what you are now.. so live with it..

course I used to think he said "I sleep in lava".. which made it a really weird song for me.

I think this song is about suffering from a total lack of motivation having split up with someone. A lot of 13's songs have the spectre of Damon's relationship with Justine Frischmann hanging over them.

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
