This last week
I slept 8 hours total, I barely sleep
Maybe that's why I've been weak
The same things that plague you still plaguing me
God called you to fulfill a vacancy
I tried to see why it wasn't me

So I didn't show up to your funeral
But I showed up to your house
And I didn't move a muscle
I was quiet as a mouse
And I swore I saw you in there
But I was looking at myself

I'm placing bets against myself
And honestly I'm a mess
With the car engulfed in flames
I am a wreck
Things I should have said through call or text
I've just really been so busy and I regret

Cause if there's no rest for the wicked
I'm as evil as it gets
Thing I should have said

So I didn't show up to your funeral
But I showed up to your house
And I didn't move a muscle
I was quiet as a mouse
And I swore I saw you in there
But I was looking at myself

So when you show up to my funeral
Will you be wearing white or black?
And I know the voice is in you
It's the energy I lack
So if there's a race to heaven
I will surely come in last
And if there's a race to heaven
I will always come in last

Great song - gotta rock some self-loathing funk. Sounds like a cross between a Kings of Leon and My Chemical Romance song. Love the video.

    My Interpretation

This song is about human emotion, how we process emotion. The music video also follows these themes, and I highly suggest you watch it.

It's about grief. "This last week, I slept 8 hours total, I barely sleep" not being able to sleep out of grief, thoughts, sorrow. This person is mourning a loved one, as indicated by the chorus "I didn't show up to your funeral" however, what he did do? He showed up to their house. Perhaps he forgot they died, the brain in denial, unable to process this loss. Or maybe he didn't want to go to the funeral because that's not how he wanted to remember his friend. "God called you to fulfill a vacancy" yet another theme pertaining to the death of a loved one. The vacancy being in heaven.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
