I remember back in '99
How excited I was 'bout the concept of time
And the great big numbers about to turn
And the hopes that I had and the baggage we could burn

It was all gonna be smooth and easy and slow
Drift in a daydream or just up and go
Cover everything with fresh paint, poetry and song
And wind chimes and candles and wine

Ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh

Time to take back the new millennium
This one was gonna be ours
Take back the new millennium
Mmm

And no oil family power
Making your enemies cover
Planes smashing into towers
Gonna keep us from the world we deserve

Take back, take back
Take back the new millennium

Maybe I'm spoiled with too many choices
Too many sweet things, too many pretty voices
At the first sign of trouble, oh baby, I cut and run
To the warm winds of some place and their warm winter sun

Wish I could say, but I just don't know
If it's all time to just hold on or just let it go
Sometimes it seems like it all got snatched away
Before we had the chance to live it for a day

Ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh

Lately in my sleep, I've been trying to scream
This is not my vision, this is not my dream
I ain't bein' heard, ain't bein' understood
And I can't find my way to the Three Acre Wood

But just lately, I've got to say this
I feel like things are turning like a cool country kiss
I see signs in the small things and though ya can't always win
But like Kennedy said, "Let us begin."

So, no, I don't think it's too late to turn it around
No I, don't think it's too late to throw the bums out of town
I got all my senses, I'm walking around
I got all my senses, I'm walking around

Time to take back the new millennium
This one was gonna be ours
Take back the new millennium
This one was gonna be ours

And no oil family power
Making your enemies cower
Planes smashing into towers
Gonna keep us from the world we deserve
Take back, take back
Take back the new millennium

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
