You're sympatico
And of all the lifts home and all the mixed feelings
You're cuts above
And you don't own worries or a chest full of heartache
And yes, I know
That I'll never work out exactly how you're thinking
But, let me know when I'm needed home

And I'll come
You can leather me with your lips

I've gotta give it to you
You give me problems
When you are not in the mood
I've gotta give it to you
You give me problems
And made me give in to you
Our dealer hates me, you know
'Cause he used to see her but she sold
Him off, on down the river

It's impractical
To go out and catch a death with a dress fit for the summer
So you don't
Instead, you call me up with a head full of filth
And yes, I know
That I'll never acquiesce anything you're thinking
But, let me know when i'm needed home

And I'll come
You can leather me with your lips

I've gotta give it to you
You give me problems
When you are not in the mood
I've gotta give it to you
You give me problems
And made me give in to you
Our dealer hates me, you know
'Cause he used to see her but she sold
Him off, on down the river

    Here's my interpretation:

You're simpatico And of all the lifts home and all the mixed feelings You’re cuts above And you don’t own worries or a chest full of heartache And Yes, I know That I’ll never work out exactly how you’re thinking But, Let me know when i’m needed home

And I’ll come You can leather me with your lips

Here he is saying that she is a nice girl and she is better than other girls he's given rides to (one night stands or past flings). The idea that she doesn't have worries means that she is kind of careless with relationships/doesn't commit enough to get hurt. He knows that he's not what she wants but he'll still come running if she calls. To leather is to wear down so she is wearing him down with sex or maybe words? Maybe both?

I’ve gotta give it to you You give me problems When you are not in the mood I’ve gotta give it to you You give me problems And made me give in to you Our dealer hates me you know Cause he used to see her but she sold Him off on down the river

*Now the idea that she gives him problems when she isn't in the mood can be interpreted 2 ways, she either isn't in the mood to deal with the relationship or she just doesn't want to have sex. I think he likes the problems though because he gives into her. The last part is self explanatory.

It's impractical To go out and catch a death with a dress fit for the summer So you don’t Instead you call me up with a head full of filth And yes, I know That I’ll never acquiesce anything you’re thinking But, Let me know when i’m needed home

She isn't one for bars and clubs but she she does call him for essentially a booty call. He doesn't necessarily agree with how she thinks about the relationship but once again he'll come back if she calls him

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
