Do you remember the days
When our blue eyes were blinded and we found ourselves?
The brightest stars eclipsed by a windblown sun
We all know that life's not forever
Why can't you see that you'll always be weightless without gravity?

What are you running away from? (Running away from)
Will you ever come back home?

So while you're searching for some direction
Try to remember that I'm still waiting

Why did you run away
Or was it home that ran away from you?
You said that you would stay
So where do you belong when things start to change?
We can't choose where we've come from (Where we've come from)
But we can choose where we go from here

Maybe then things will be different
When you can see there's still life in a dying tree
We'll walk in an evergreen park
Holding hands, we begin to depart

Face to face, eye to eye
On a deathbed we will lie
What brought us together will tear us apart
Heart to heart, yours and mine
Bathed in sunlight, we will shine forever

So while you're searching for some direction
Try to remember that I'm still waiting

Why did you run away
Or was it home that ran away from you?
You said that you would stay
So where do you belong when things start to change?
We can't choose where we've come from (Where we've come from)
But we can choose where we go from here

I now know that time is forever
We are free and we'll always be voices
Unbound in eternity

Why did you run away
Or was it home that ran away from you?
You said that you would stay
So where do you belong when things start to change?
We can't choose where we've come from (Where we've come from)
But we can choose where we go from here

    My Interpretation

Sounds like a partner has "run away" from a relationship possibly unhappy with the situation, not wanting to commit or wanting to find greener pastures. The narrator however is hoping that like gravity they will come back to them (realise falling in love with them is inevitable).

The first verse seems to suggest their love is inevitable and the brightest, so why fight it?

Moves along to the partner leaving (run away), and the narrator can't understand why ("you said you would stay"). They hope they will return ("see there's still life in a dying tree") to them.

There is no closure at the end of the song, as far as I can tell ... still waiting for them??

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
