It's 9 o'clock on the dot At the spot
And I'm hanging' with her friends again
Great taste, Beautiful place
And you're fashionably late (hey)
And I don't wanna be that guy,
That makes you sad, makes you cry, again
Without a doubt sorry about,
Making out with your friends (go)

I love the way that this began
Started off right, so innocent
I'm letting you know
I'm letting you go
I want your best friend
I'm giving' it up and asking why
You seem so shocked and so surprised
I'm sorry it hurts, I'm surely a jerk
I understand why you're mad

Don't talk that crap when you call me back
As a matter of fact, don't act like that
Everybody knows you're right
Everybody knows I'm wrong (wrong)

It's 9 o'clock on the dot, at the spot
And I'm hanging with her friends again
Great taste, beautiful place,
And you're fashionably late (hey!)
And I don't wanna be that guy
That makes you sad, makes you cry, again
Without a doubt sorry about
Making out with your friends

It's got nothing to do with how you look
Just another excuse to write a hook
I'm letting you know
She liked my post up on my Facebook
And after all you're not my type
But all your friends are pretty nice
You know what I mean, stop making a scene,
And take some want of advice

Don't talk that crap when you call me back,
As a matter of fact, don't act like that
Everybody knows you're right,
Everybody knows I'm wrong (right?)

It's 9 o'clock on the dot, at the spot,
And I'm hanging' with her friends again
Great taste, beautiful place,
And you're fashionably late (hey)
And I don't wanna be that guy, that makes you sad,
Makes you cry, again
Without a doubt, sorry about
Making out with your friends

And I've got the topic conversation now
And I know I'm running out of time (yeah)
It's on an honest demonstration now
You're not the only one, not the only one

Don't talk that crap when you call me back
As a matter of fact, don't act like that
Everybody knows you're right
Everybody sing along (ah)

And I don't wanna be that guy
That makes you sad
Makes you cry, again
Without a doubt, sorry about,
Fucking all your friends (what?)

It's 9 o'clock on the dot At the spot
And I'm hanging' with her friends again
Great taste, beautiful place,
And you're fashionably late (hey!)
And I don't wanna be that guy
That makes you sad, makes you cry, again
Without a doubt, sorry about
Making out with your friends

Making out with your friends
Making out with your friends

Without a doubt, sorry about
Having sex with all your friends

    My Interpretation

This song is about a guy who is revealed to his girlfriend that he was cheating on her with her friend and what was happening before she found out. The beginning/chorus starts out with saying "It’s 9 o’clock on the dot At the spot And I’m hanging’ with her friends again", implying that he's with them a lot, and (as usual) his girlfriend's not there. He feels bad about cheating on her and making her cry. With the next verse, it makes it seem like he never intended on cheating because he really did like the relationship they had. However, with the lines from the chorus "Great taste, a beautiful place And you're fashionably late." he's saying that he caved in to the temptation and it was mostly about convenience. He then says he doesn't want her to be mad, but he understands why she is. The second verse and bridge show how his interest in her is changing and that he's really starting to like the friend more than her. The bridge explains how people are finding out and he's running out of time before the girlfriend finds out. When the chorus starts to change from "making out" to "sex" even he's surprised by how far he took it (Fucking all your friends (what?)) By the end, their relationship is pretty much over and he still feels guilty for cheating, however he doesn't seem regretful for breaking it up.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
