You got a lot of nerve
A lot of nerve to fuck with me
Better kill your emperor
Because you know you're just like me
You lust, you lust, you lust
[Chorus]
Lust to succeed
Lust to succeed
Lust to succeed
Lust to succeed
Lust to succeed
Lust to succeed
Lust to succeed
When you pull the switch on us
I don't really want to know
When you shoot the stars away
The brightest light is the first to go
You lust, you lust, you lust
[Chorus]
[Chorus]
Oh, we are magnificent
The selfish I can't see itself
When it shoots across the fall
It can never be destroyed
It can never be destroyed
A lot of nerve to fuck with me
Better kill your emperor
Because you know you're just like me
You lust, you lust, you lust
[Chorus]
Lust to succeed
Lust to succeed
Lust to succeed
Lust to succeed
Lust to succeed
Lust to succeed
Lust to succeed
When you pull the switch on us
I don't really want to know
When you shoot the stars away
The brightest light is the first to go
You lust, you lust, you lust
[Chorus]
[Chorus]
Oh, we are magnificent
The selfish I can't see itself
When it shoots across the fall
It can never be destroyed
It can never be destroyed

This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version.
Great version of a great song,

“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
This appears to be Crowley reference.
Lust to succeed has a double meaning of sucking seed ( oral sex ) and creating success through magic. [See: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Book_ofLies(Crowley) - Chapter 69, "The Way to Succeed–and the Way to Suck Eggs!" (sucking seed and sucking eggs referring to mutual oral sex]
When you pull the switch on us refers to the foretold enlightenment that was to occur in 2012 as a result of communications with the Sirius star system, Sirius being the brightest star.
The selfish I could refer to both the ego and the eye of Sirius, stating that one cannot destroy the ego, and also referring to the previous statement the brightest light being the first to go, but that it cannot be destroyed.
I will note that I have been reading Robert Anton Wilson's Cosmic Trigger which promotes synchronicity.
