Is it merely because you're down on your luck,
Or is cause you're lazy as fuck,
Pick the words that best describe you,
Hide them in the soles of your shoe,

Can you feel the fury's running a muck,
Running over you like a monster truck,
You're not doing what you were born to do,
Stop pretending like you don't know it's true,

The thing I like most about you,
Is that you're held together with glue,
And you let them tell what you can't do,
Even though they all do it too,

Now you're getting what you give,
Everything is relative,
Increase the cost,
We both are lost,
Now that I live with you,
Ahhhhhh ha ha ha haaaaa,

Is our society that's making you sick,
Or could it be you're just a nasty prick,
Hiding all your meanest faces,
Retreating to your hiding places,

Is the quicksand you're in running too quick,
Cause getting out of that would be a neat trick,
And everything you do goes nowhere,
It's as if you have to lie to cut your hair,

But you got a couple of good things going for you,
You got a pentagram tattoo,
And an authentic didgeridoo,
Even though you can't carry a tune,
And the good times have to end,
Hope to see you around here again,
You best believe,
That I can't leave,
When I'm still in you,

"Track 12 on Moving Through Security is called "Lazy as Fuck". It is as close as the Cowards come to sounding like Cat Stevens. On an album filled with dance anthems and club anthems, we needed one song that had less beats per minute and more layered vocals. This song is not to be confused with "Lazy Ass Fuck" by Sting from his 1993 album 'Ride It!'" - Evil Cowards

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
