I can't believe how far I've come
Now watch me stumble and come undone
If you take away these memories
Then all that's left is just me

'Cause I don't want this
And I don't need this
And I don't feel this
It seems that even though she's with me
I can't shake this
And I can't fake this
And I won't take this anymore

So you choose to break my heart
I should have seen this from the start
I'm haunted by your apathy
All that's left is killing me

'Cause I don't want this
And I don't need this
And I don't feel this
It seems that even though she's with me
I can't shake this
And I can't fake this
And I won't take this anymore

Do you believe that the way you choose to be
I've always had to see
The brighter the side of this
So I don't lose my faith

Now the sun has gone away
It's getting colder every day
So before I freeze to death there's
Something I should I say

I don't want this
And I don't need this
And I don't feel this
It seems that even though she's with me
I can't shake this
And I can't fake this
And I won't take this

Though you say you understand
You still won't face this
Can't erase this
I won't embrace this anymore

By far the best Staind song around!!!! Personally I think old Aron here is singing about a guy who loves this girl so dearly and mayb he was with her for a while but eventually she decided to leave. I think this guy started seeing someone else but didnt truly Love this new partner of his. He is with her, but he cant take it or fake it anymore, he cant fake that he loves her, hes still in love with the other girl who broke his heart. and he wishes to death he didnt feel so much for this girl ( "i dont want this and I dont need this"). What kills him even more is her Apathy... her uninterest.... she has gone on with her life so easily and does not even check in from time to time how he is doing. Tell me what you think of my interpretation. Sweet. D

This song breaks my heart. It seems like it's about someone who can't get over the person he loves cheating on him. I don't know if that's correct or not, but that's what it makes me feel.

Seems to be his thoughts and feelings about the relationship just before he breaks up with her. Another one of Staind's slow, deep songs to add to thier collection. The guitar in the background is an awesome touch.

This song really means alot to me. Just a couple of months ago at the beginning of October, my girlfriend broke up with me. I stuck around after she said that she was in love with another dude. I didn't want to believe that she would actually say that so I doubted it and this song really hit home. The part where he says, " I don't want this And I don't need this And I don't feel this It seems that even though she's with me I can't shake this And I can't fake this And I won't take this, Though you say you understand You still won't face this, Can't erase this I won't embrace this anymore" That really hits home. She may have gotten to the breakup first, but the last time I talked to her, she still wants me back. I "won't embrace it anymore".

    completely agree with danielpdonnelly.

"I can't believe how far I've come Now watch me stumble and come undone If you take away these memories Then all that's left is just me"

seems like he has tried to move on with his life but he only gets so far and he "stumbles" and is back to where he started thinking about his exgf who he is still in love with.

I take this song as something as someone who has broken up but remains friends, but he still loves her, but she dont feel the same. He cant take it anymore, and wants to tell her he loves her, so he hates faking like he doesnt love her but he does. It is breaking his heart, because she dont feel the same anymore.

This what im pretty going through right now.

This song seems to fit pretty well in my life at the moment...

I don't think this song is about cheating so much as I think it could be about some form of addiction. Like maybe alcohol or drugs. Mostly because of the line "Do you believe, that the way you choose to be, I've always had to see the brighter side of things so I don't lose my faith." Like, her choosing to live the way she does is killing him.

"I'm haunted by your apathy, and all that's left is killing me." </3

I can relate to that... My boyfriend drinks a lot, and I'm a very fragile individual who's against that. He's gotten drunk a few times around me, and it really bothers me.. Yet he acts like it's nothing; apathetic. I'm afraid this issue could make or break our relationship... I'm holding on for now though.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
