I don't know who you are
But now somehow you're breaking my heart
And I don't know where you are, are
But like a drug lift me up to the stars

It's why I'm feeling alive, it's the first time
Here's hoping this day won't end

I don't know, now, what to do, I don't care
I need 10 more minutes with you
10 more minutes with you
10 more minutes with you

I don't know what you are
But one look and I'm hooked from the start
Now I'm falling apart
That's what you get for falling in love

Tonight I'd look in her eyes for the first time
Here's hoping this pain will end

I don't know, now, what to do, I don't care
I need 10 more minutes with you
10 more minutes with you
10 more minutes with you
If you want to then you've got to

It's what you live for, it's what you live for
So what you lived for it, would you die for it?
I'm alive for 10 more minutes, oh

If you want to then you got to
10 more minutes with you
If you want to then you got to
10 more minutes with you
If you want to, now you got it all
10 more minutes with you

"Life was crap, then you came and made it so much better than it was, but now you have to leave. God, I'd give anything to have ten more minutes with you"

    Basically, infatuation.

A heart-ripping combination of nostalgia, memory, sadness, and dark desperation, all set on fire and tossed into the cool night breeze...

and i don't know who you are but like a bird lift me up to the stars now i'm feeling alive for the first time here's hoping this day won't end

Someone once told me that love always looks good in the morning, and you just have to be careful that the sun doesn't set on the relationship before you want it to...same basic principle here, hoping that the day won't end...and at the same time, hoping that it will...

now i am gonna explode for the first time here's hoping this pain will end

To love somebody so much that it hurts, that nothing's important except ten more minutes with them...man, what a feeling that must be.

this song always makes me think of dizzy nights, not really knwoing what your friends are saying, and basic longing for somone at teh end of the night.......amazing combination taht kill hannah perfectly captures

It makes me think of the feeling you get when you meet someone that you feel like you've known your whole life, and they make you feel so alive with love and so nothing matters except having more time [in this case 10 minutes] with that person. But I will agree with there being a lust factor in there somewhere... But virex7, how is this very, very smashing pumpkins? Not trying to be bitchy, Im just curious...cause i didnt get that ^_^

And by the way...Does anyone pick up on the slighly British sounding accent of some of Matt's words, Specificly "care"?

Standing On The Edge Of Summer

In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
