Driving past hotels
In the night your words don't sit well

How can I feel free
When all I want to be
Is by your side in that municipality

Up in that farm land
Past the houses and gardens
Dozens of shade trees
Are waiting there for me

But that's not anything like my reality

To be by your side in that municipality
That's not anything like my reality

Driving past hotels In the night Your words don't sit well

How can I feel free? When all I want to be Is by your side In that municipality

Open that farm land Past the houses and gardens Dozens of shade trees Are waiting there for me

That's not anything like my reality

To be by your side In that municipality

That's not anything like my reality

although traveling is great and you get to see a lot of new and cool stuff, that's not the life you live everyday, it's often very hasty. you meet people, leave them, you see things, leave them and so it goes. Back home, back in your everyday life, that's where your heart lies, the people you know, the things you know. All of the people and all of the small moments in your everyday life means so much more than one thinks.

(Sorry for bad english, I tried my best)

    My Interpretation

The meaning is pretty obvious. He wants to live his life and be happy and free, but without the girl he loves, he feels trapped and alone. Nothing will make him happy, only by having her at his side will he be able to move on in his life.

"How can I feel free? When all I want to be Is by your side"

Many people feel this way, including me, that is why this song resonates with me.

sometimes you do love someone but you're stuck in a routine and, once you see some sort of possibility of a new life, you fall in love with it. however, things comes to sense "that's not anything like my reality"... you can't run away from who you are.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
