Say something, I'm giving up on you
I'll be the one, if you want me to
Anywhere, I would've followed you
Say something, I'm giving up on you

And I am feeling so small
It was over my head
I know nothing at all

And I will stumble and fall
I'm still learning to love
Just starting to crawl

Say something, I'm giving up on you
I'm sorry that I couldn't get to you
Anywhere, I would've followed you
Say something, I'm giving up on you

And I will swallow my pride
You're the one that I love
And I'm saying goodbye

Say something, I'm giving up on you
And I'm sorry that I couldn't get to you
And anywhere, I would have followed you, oh-oh
Say something, I'm giving up on you

Say something, I'm giving up on you
Say something

    My Opinion

First of, please excuse if my English is not well written.

I believe every song has its own story to tell and this song does relate to some of the lines from the novel I'm writing on - still processing -

I've fallen for you and we fallen for each other, we share our thoughts, we share our pain and laughter. You were a friend who I believe would be my lover, but when we speak of it, you wish to speak no further.

    • Say something, I'm giving up on you. I'll be the one if you want me to.

But everywhere you go, I would follow you. But will you follow me to? Should I give up because really I don't want to, but only to know that you have another (person).

    • Everywhere you go, I would follow you. Say something, I'm giving up on you.

It's inside my mind, its inside my heart, it won't go away because I don't want to let go. I stumble and I fall, but how can I not? Questions you ask because you were feeling uncertain, but how am I to explain when I'm only starting to learn.

    • And I am feeling so small, It was over my head, I know nothing at all, And I will stumble and fall, I'm still learning to love, Just starting to crawl.

This is getting out of hands, we fallen more for each other but you won't speak, you won't talk. Should I stay or should I leave? Why are my questions being play, ignore as if its not important. Isn't it obvious, I'm here and what does it tell you? Why wouldn't you speak? Would you want me to just give up? Because slowly I'm starting to..give up on you..

    • Say something, I'm giving up on you, I'm sorry that I couldn't get to you, Anywhere, I would've followed you, Say something, I'm giving up on you

People start to wonder, people start to question. How I treat you and how you treat me more, bringing me closer. But you begin to silence everytime question begin to arise. So this is it, this is the final. Let me be the one to walk, let me be the one to go. You're the one that I love, but why goodbye is the only answer...

    • And I will swallow my pride, You're the one that I love, And I'm saying goodbye

You hold my hands, you hold me tighter, only when I start to walk further. Tell me really, what feelings you have, inside of your heart is it me or is it another? Because slowly I'm starting to give up on you.

    • Say something, I'm giving up on you.

This is just some lines I pulled out of my novel ('More than"), its not in my journal because I jump the chapter and the part further in my current entry to see first how people might like my story. If you do like it do comment and maybe one day I will start from Part 1 of Chapter 1. Thanks in advance.

    Much love.

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
