Life is an open road
And you just gotta make up your mind
You can go left and right or straight ahead
You can do what you want to do
Or nothing instead
Just can't go back in time
So you have to make the most of it now

This is the strangest thing
But believe me that it's true
Let me tell you that life is waiting
For you

Life is a fistful of
What is wrong and what is true
Just like the rain outside
The sun will come shine too
Don't take it for granted
And don't make it go up in flames
'Cuz it is worth fighting for
But the struggle still remains

This is the strangest thing
But believe me that it's true
Let me tell you that life is waiting
For you

This is the strangest thing
But believe me that it's true
Let me tell you that life is waiting
For you

This is the strangest thing
But believe me that it's true
Let me tell you that life is waiting
For you

    My Interpretation

Verse 1: "My heart is giving up All my plans are broken Your face is all I see Though my world is falling, As I watch you head into the sun, I never thought it was my one, Chance to say goodbye, I never want to say goodbye"

I think this verse is talking about how life is getting rough, and how life is falling apart. The thought of suicide is here, hence "I never thought it was my one, Chance to say goodbye, i never want to say goodbye" and your not ready to say goodbye

Chorus "Life is sweeter, sweeter, On the other side, on the other side, I will see you, see you, On the other side, on the other side, I'll fight the stars to let me through, I'll find a way to get to you, Life is sweeter on the other side of here"

The chorus is talking about over whatever is keeping you down on the other side , life is a whole lot better. Its saying that God will find a way to help you through as long as you let him "I'll fight the stars to let me through, I'll find a way to get to you"

Verse 2a: "So far from where you are, But I feel you with me, You're in the place where I belong, Where my life is waiting"

This part of the verse i think says you feel so far away from God yet you can feel him with you. The second part is talking about how God is in the place where you belong and hes coming to bring you there with him where the rest of your life is waiting to be fulfilled

Verse 2b: "As I watch the rising of the sun, I pray that I could have just one, Chance to say goodnight, I never wanna say goodbye"

As you watch your life fall apart you pray to God to just have one chance to say goodbye and get things over with

Verse 3a: "Everyday, I get a little bit closer to reaching you, But I can't wait till I'm with you forever"

Everyday you feel that your getting closer to God, and you cant wait to be with him forever

Verse 3b: "Everyday I get a little bit closer to reaching you, But I can't wait till I hold you forever"

Everyday you feel closer to God and you cant wait for God to hold you forever

Review: *This song is about suicide and no matter how much life sucks, life is sweeter on the other side of this. Keep your faith in God and never let him go. "I'll fight the stars to let me through, I'll find a way to get to you" God will fend off anyone he can just to get you back in shape and to help you

Other thoughts: If you know someone who is suicidal, the best thing you can do is be there for them, pray with them, talk with them. Let them know they are not alone. The world is cruel, the world destroy's lives. The world is the devils handy work. We as christians must not let others fall, but when they do we help them up. One should never be left alone, God will fight for his children, and he will win as long as we let him.

For those who have the suicidal thoughts, find someone you can trust, an adult would be the best choice. If its a teen, make sure its one you can trust with your life. Pray and continue praying, and keep listening. God is there even in the darkest times. He will always be there, no matter how much you cry out to him and seem to never get an answer. Make sure you are listening because he may be calling back. Read the bible at least once a day.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
