Throw your hands in the sky right now
(Alors on)
(Alors on)
Throw your hands in the sky right now
'Cause it's going down

Unfortunately for the rest of y'all
I'm way better than the best of all
And even though they focus on just the flaws
This still gonna annihilate the festivals
And we still gon' sip the Dom Pérignon
And still gon' eat the filet mignon, ain't it
Yeah, yeah, yeah I've been known
To cover up my eyes with the Ray-Beons

Alors on danse
Alors on danse
Alors on danse
Alors on danse
Alors on (Throw your hands in the sky right now)
Alors on

Flashing lights, the stress of life
It's way too much to handle in one night
Live this life like there's no tomorrow
Wake up in Paris with a Russian model
Throw your hands in the sky
If anybody got five dollars in they pocket right now
I call this club Titanic
Why? 'Cause it's going down

Alors on danse
Alors on danse
Alors on danse
Alors on danse

Alors on chante
La la la la la la
La la la la la la
Alors on chante
La la la la la la
La la la la la la

Alors on chante (Throw your hands in the sky right now)
Alors on chante (Throw your hands in the sky right now)
Et puis seulement quand c'est fini
Alors on danse
Alors on danse
Alors on danse
Alors on danse
Alors on danse

Alors on chante
La la la la la la
La la la la la la
Alors on chante

Alors on chante
Et puis seulement quand c'est fini

Alors on danse (Throw your hands in the sky right now)
Alors on danse
Alors on danse (Throw your hands in the sky right now)
Alors on danse ('Cause it's going down)

i totally agree! this song is awesome!! it keeps me awake and makes me wanna move :p

i also tried to translate it and i think i've got it although i'm not quite sure of some things xD

    So/Then we d… (x3)

Who says study says work Who says work says you money Who says money says expenses Who says credit says claim Who says debt says you bailiff Who says sit in the sh*t Who says love says kids Say always and say divorce Who says (be)loved ones says you mourning cuz problems never come alone Who says crisis says you world says famine says third-world Who says tiredness says wake up while still deaf from last night So/Then we go out to forget all problems So/Then we dance… (x9) And there you tell yourself that it's over cuz worse than this would be death When you think in the end that you're leaving when there's more and there is more Ecstasy says problem problems or else music That makes you trip that grabs you by the head and then you pray for it to stop But it's your body it's not heaven so you cover your ears more and here you scream even harder and it persists So we sing Lalalalalala, Lalalalalala, So we sing Lalalalalala, Lalalalalala

So we sing (x2) And then only when it's finished, then we dance So we dance (x7) and there is more

    Lyric Correction

I think these are the correct lyrics (with translation underneath). Corrections welcome!

    Alors on d… (x3) So we d…

Qui dit étude dit travail Who says study says work

Qui dit taf te dit les thunes Who says work says to you cash

Qui dit argent dit dépenses Who says money says expenses

Qui dit crédit dit créance Who says credit says debt

Qui dit dette te dit huissier Who says debt says bailiff

Et lui dit assis dans la merde And says to himself sitting in the shit

Qui dit Amour dit les gosses Who says love says kids

Dit toujours et dit divorce Says always and says divorce

Qui dit proches te dit deuils Who says loved ones says to you grief

Car les problèmes ne viennent pas seuls Because problems don’t come alone

Qui dit crise te dit monde Who says crisis says to you world

Dit famine et dit tiers-monde Says famine and says third world

Qui dit fatigue dit reveille Who says fatigue says wake up

Encore sourd de la veille Still deaf from the day before

Alors on sort pour oublier tous les problèmes So we go out to forget all our problems

Alors on danse (x9) So we dance

Et là tu te dis que c'est fini And there you tell yourself it’s over

Car pire que ça ce serait la mort Because worse, that would be death

Quand tu crois enfin que tu t'en sors When you believe it’s finally over, you leave it

Quand y en a plus et ben y en a encore When there is more of it and, well, more still

Est-ce la zik ou les problèmes, les problèmes ou bien la musique Is it music or problems, problems or, well, music

Ça te prend les trips It takes you on trips (as in drugs)

Ça te prend la tête It takes you by the head

Et puis tu pries pour que ça s'arrête And then you pray that it stops

Mais c'est ton corps, c'est pas le ciel But it’s your body, it’s not heaven

Alors tu te bouches plus les oreilles So you push your fingers even more in your ears

Et là tu cries encore plus fort, mais ça persiste And there you shout still louder, but it carries on

Alors on chante So we sing

    Lalalalalala, Lalalalalala

Alors on chante So we sing

    Lalalalalala, Lalalalalala

Alors on chante (x2) So we sing

Et puis seulement quand c'est fini And then only when it’s finished

Alors on danse (x7) Then we dance

Et ben y en a encore (x5) And well, there is still more of it

It sounds more like "lui dit ainsi dans la merde" and "ecstasy communique", although I'm not even sure if it's ecstasy.

Could be wrong, French isn't my first language.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
